Recently I filled a page in my journal with some of the amazing things I’ve been blessed to experience over my time in the sport and tourism industry.
From being naïve enough to start a sports commission out of a university in Grand Junction, Colorado and being crazy enough to go back to get my PhD with a full-time job and two toddlers at home, to having the privilege to serve the industry association for several years, and of course the wonderful people and places I’ve had the chance to meet and experience along the way.
If I jumped back to the “me” of all those years ago, I could not have begun to imagine the path that was in store for me, and the joy it would bring to my life. I’m blown away when I realize it’s been 5 years since I took a leap and started Stoll Strategies. I wouldn’t change a minute of it for the world!
Flash forward to today, and the same eager drive and passionate pursuit of new knowledge, new insights, and new innovations remains. I’ve traveled the US and the world learning and growing. Those experiences have only reaffirmed my belief that our industry is changing – and that is not a bad thing! In my view, it’s a time of immense excitement and opportunity. It’s a time for reflection. It’s a time for boldness. And it’s a time for new ways.
I'm so excited about what's coming next, but that’s for another day. First, I want to enjoy looking back on the path that has brought me to today. My favorite industry memory from the last 5 years was taking my son Wyatt to Sports ETA’s symposium in 2023 – having him meet industry friends and colleagues and get “on the job training”!
