September is National Preparedness Month. This year's theme is "start a conversation." While there are lots of emergencies to prepare for, we hope you will have a conversation with a family member, a friend, a co-worker or others whom you may know to talk about STOP THE BLEED® - simple conversations that educate people how often life-threatening bleeding occurs and how many lives that could have been saved is a great motivator for people to take a class, to become equipped and to be ready to act if the time arises. We've got lots of things planned for this month, including the release (soon) of the new STOP THE BLEED®Training Management System. If you are a healthcare professional and/or have significant training experience, consider becoming a licensed STOP THE BLEED®Instructor. It's easy to apply, it's free and you'll get access to amazing resources to support your work. Find out more here: https://lnkd.in/eWrKYw3G

Saving your Dad’s life is a heck of a way to start off the New Year -   and Jordan Miller did just that after her father was shot 3 times in a Kentucky Waffle House earlier this month.  She was able to keep her father alive by packing his wounds and trying to slow the bleeding, lessons learned during her STOP THE BLEED® training hosted by Butler High School Health Teacher Mary Wurst. It’s becoming more common (and required in some states) for high school students to learn what to do in a bleeding emergency, empowering them to act when tragedy strikes - whether that’s a shooting, a car accident or any number of workplace accidents - the kind that occur every day. We’re also seeing more companies training their employees to do the same thing - to empower them to act in the workplace or at home.    Companies like Schwab, Inc., Verizon and many others are demonstrating how they care about their employees, customers, and stakeholders by requiring STOP THE BLEED® training   Connect with us if you are a company or business interested in developing your own STOP THE BLEED® program this year, we’ll provide you with the resources and tools needed to get started!
