Do you ever wonder why nurses make you get out of bed so quickly after surgery? The quick answer is it helps reduce post-op complications! Getting out of bed can serve as a component of VTE prophylaxis as well as aid in improving respiratory function. It promotes blood flow, ultimately helping the body to heal. Early ambulation is an ERAS component and has been linked to shorter hospital stay. We encourage our patients to be out of bed at least 2 hours the same day of surgery and 6 hours each day following.

Each year, SHP recognizes providers who routinely go above and beyond as our “212° Winners”. At 211°, water is hot. At 212°, it boils—generating steam. Steam, harnessed, is powerful. That one extra degree makes a HUGE difference. Congratulations to these peer-nominated, outstanding anesthesia providers and leaders. In recognition of ongoing excellence, SHP donated $1,000 to a charity of their choice. In each photo, the recipient is the second person from the left. Congratulations, Ardeshir Jahanian Kaeli McDermott Christopher Rosen #anesthesia #anesthetist #anesthesiologist

I left this event renewed! It was so fulfilling to recognize outstanding providers, hear from people who lead by example, and feel the support of a fantastic admin team. If you are an anesthesia provider looking to be part of something unique in this marketplace, we invite you to come be an owner with us!
On Saturday May 5th, an Employee Event was held to learn more about current and future activities of the organization. Awesome door prizes were awarded to lucky recipients!
