    Save America’s Treasures grants from the Historic Preservation Fund provide preservation and/or conservation assistance to nationally significant historic properties and collections. FY2024 Public Law 118-42 provides $25.5 million for the SAT Grant Program. Eligibility is for National Register properties For collections, the program supports museums, libraries, archives, and all other collecting institutions in addressing conservation needs of nationally significant collections including physical conservation, curation, care, and collections management. Grants are awarded through a competitive process and require a dollar-for-dollar, non-Federal match, which can be cash or documented in-kind. The grant program is administered by the National Park Service (NPS) in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). There are separate opportunities for preservation and collections projects.   • The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) opened the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) subgrant earlier this month. The deadline to apply for funding is Thursday, November 7, 2024. RFP link here: https://lnkd.in/e_9_xtRw   The state will allocate about $2.8M for subgrant distribution. This funding came from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) through the EECBG Program. Project proposal range for this RFP is from $100,000 to $500,000. There is no match! Eligible applicants are North Carolina towns, cities, counties, and state agencies.   • The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Division of Preservation and Access is accepting applications for the Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections program (applications due 1/10/2025). This program helps cultural institutions meet the complex challenge of preserving large and diverse holdings of humanities materials for future generations by supporting environmentally sustainable preventive care measures that mitigate deterioration, prolong the useful life of collections, reduce energy consumption, and strengthen institutions’ ability to anticipate and respond to disasters.   • The Solid Waste Infrastructure for Recycling (SWIFR) program is designed to fund a range of projects that will enable EPA to help states, territories, Tribes, local governments, and communities improve and transform their recycling and materials management infrastructure. This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is for the SWIFR Grants for Political Subdivisions. The total estimated funding for this competitive opportunity is approximately $58,000,000. The EPA anticipates awarding approximately 20 to 30 assistance agreements, with at least one award per EPA Region, depending on the quantity and quality of applications received. The minimum individual award amount is $500,000 and the maximum individual award is $5,000,000 for the grant period, which is up to three years.   • Today's highlight: the Community Food Projects Competitive Grant Program (CFPCGP). CFPCGP projects are designed to require a one-time contribution of Federal assistance to become self-sustaining and meet short- and long-term goals. Applicants are required to address two or more of the CFPCGP goals (listed below) to ensure a comprehensive and sustainable approach to resolving food and nutrition security and hunger. Short term goals: 1) Meet the food needs of food-insecure individuals through food distribution. 2) Develop community outreach to assist in participation in Federal nutrition assistance programs. 3) Improve access to nutrient dense food as part of a comprehensive service. Long term goals:  1) Develop long-term sustainable projects that increase the self-reliance of communities in providing for the food needs of the community. 2) Develop long-term projects that promote comprehensive responses to local food, food access, farm, and nutrition issues. 3) Meet specific State, local, Tribal, Territory, or neighborhood food and agricultural long-term needs including needs for equipment necessary for the efficient operation of a CFPCGP project. 4) Develop a comprehensive plan for long-term solutions to food and nutrition security. 5) Develop long term projects that lead to the creation of innovative marketing activities that mutually benefit agricultural producers and income-eligible consumers.   • The Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for the Building Resilient Infrastructure in Communities (BRIC) and Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) programs is expected to be released soon. Local towns, counties, cities, COGs (Councils of Governments), and more may apply as sub-applicants to a state application.   • The Low Carbon Transportation Materials (LCTM) Program provides funding for the use of construction materials that have substantially lower levels of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This funding applies to all relevant stages of production, use, and disposal of materials or products. The program will also serve to help eligible transportation agencies update or develop specification language and conduct identification activities needed to demonstrate materials are appropriate for use on Federal-aid construction projects. LCTM Program Goals -Increase the use of lower carbon materials and products that are used in projects funded under Title 23. -Facilitate the use of low carbon transportation materials while ensuring appropriateness for use in projects eligible under Title 23. -Promote technology transfer and enhance workforce development to increase the adoption of environmental quantification techniques used in decision making by transportation agencies. -Encourage eligible recipients to begin LCTM activities and build successful low carbon transportation material identification frameworks.
