In this article, Abbott CEO Robert Ford highlights the company’s earnings growth related to an increase in CGM sales. The rising number of diabetes cases, rapid improvement of technology, clinical adaptation and more inclusive reimbursement trends through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and commercial insurance carriers are all driving a growing market for CGM manufacturers and suppliers that is projected to continue to increase over the next decade. Abbott and other CGM manufacturers rely on durable medical equipment (DME) suppliers and pharmacies to distribute these devices to consumers.
