We are proud to announce that we served as an official bicycle safety partner for the event. Our contribution aims to aid in the rebuilding efforts of the Western North Carolina communities affected by Hurricane Helene. #StromLawFirm #CommunitySupport #HurricaneRelief #BicycleSafetyPartner
This year's GFH was a special weekend. The roads we once rode in Western NC were not the same anymore due to the effects of Hurricane Helene, but we are rebuilding with the help of our loving cycling community, sponsors, amazing donors, and cycling legends like Sir Mark Cavendish, Sir Bradley Wiggins, and Jan Ulrich who came from Europe to support our mountain communities. George Hincapie and the Hincapie Sportswear family has so far raised $630,000 for Polk County, North Carolina and will continue to raise fund. You can scan the QR code to make a contribution. I'm excited to share this short interview where I discuss the journey that led me to #mediation, offer insights into my mediation practice, and explain the philosophy and principles that guide my approach to conflict resolution. The interview took place at the recent Advanced Mediation Training Retreat of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals ("NADN") in August. The NADN is an invitation-only professional association whose membership consists of mediators and arbitrators distinguished by their hands-on experience in the field of civil and commercial dispute resolution. As one of 46 South Carolina members, I was inducted in 2021. For the retreat, neutrals from around the United States and Canada joined in Montreal to participate in three days of intensive training covering topics such as Integrating AI into Dispute Resolution; Creating Connection, Calming Anger and Building Trust; and, Understanding and Addressing Implicit Bias. It was a much valued opportunity for me to refine my skills and expertise in helping my clients navigate and resolve conflicts more effectively. #ADR #Mediation #ConflictResolution #NADN #Neutral

I was thrilled to share the stage this morning with Angus Macaulay and Amy Gaffney at the South Carolina Bar convention. We presented tips for a successful employment mediation. Angus thinks I should update my LinkedIn photo now that I am unleashing my inner hippie. He’s probably right! #SCBarCon24

Black History Month is an annual observance celebrated during the month of February. It is a time to recognize and honor the achievements, contributions, and history of African Americans and their role in shaping the nation's history and culture. The observance began as a week-long celebration in 1926, initiated by historian Dr. Carter G. Woodson and the Association for the Study of African American Life and History (ASALH). It was originally called "Negro History Week" and was chosen to coincide with the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, both of whom played significant roles in African American history. In 1976, as part of the United States' bicentennial celebrations, Negro History Week was expanded to a month-long celebration and officially became Black History Month. Since then, it has been a time for communities, schools, organizations, and individuals to engage in educational and cultural activities to learn about and celebrate the rich heritage and achievements of African Americans. During Black History Month, various events, exhibitions, lectures, and performances are organized to highlight the accomplishments and struggles of African Americans throughout history. It is also a time to reflect on the ongoing fight for civil rights, social justice, and equality, as well as the significant contributions of African Americans in fields such as literature, art, music, science, politics, and sports. Black History Month serves as an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to deepen their understanding of African American history and culture and to promote greater inclusivity and equality in society. It is an important time to celebrate diversity and recognize the significant impact that African Americans have had on the nation's history and progress. #blackhistorymonth #stormlawfirm
