We are thrilled and deeply honored to share that Stronghold has been featured in Woman's World magazine. The article highlights the inspiring journey of our Founder and CEO, Monica Bassett, who built Stronghold from a place of deep personal conviction and a relentless drive to make a difference. Since opening our doors on November 22, 2022, Stronghold Food Pantry has grown far beyond what we could have imagined, now serving military families around the globe. This growth wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible individuals who make up the Stronghold Community—our dedicated board members, passionate ambassadors, volunteers, supporters, and, of course, our donors. Together, we’ve worked tirelessly to meet the immediate needs of military families facing food insecurity. But beyond that, we are building something much deeper: a community grounded in dignity, support, and lasting impact. As we continue to grow and strengthen this community, we recognize that lasting change comes from amplifying the voices of those we serve. Being featured in a national publication like Woman's World—a trusted source for over four decades—gives us a powerful platform to do just that. It allows us to bridge the gap between the 1% of our nation who serve in the military and the broader population, helping them better understand the sacrifices made by our service members and their families. We are incredibly proud of all that we’ve accomplished, and deeply grateful for the lives we’ve touched along the way. While there is still much work ahead, one thing remains clear: our mission has always been—and will always remain—focused on the people we serve. Raising awareness for military families facing food insecurity is a vital mission at Stronghold. We are constantly working to address the food insecurity issues faced by military families. One of our key responsibilities goes beyond providing immediate relief — it is also about raising awareness and educating our broader community about the struggles that many military families face. We are excited that our Founder & CEO, Monica Bassett, had the opportunity to be featured on The Food Dignity Movement Podcast, where she discussed the unique challenges of military food insecurity. As the first military food insecurity speaker on the show, Monica was grateful to have the opportunity to share her perspective and experiences, while shedding light on the critical need for continued support and understanding. Through national platforms like this, we aim to challenge preconceived notions about military life and ensure that the stories of those who serve are heard — not just within the military community, but by all of us. The more we share, the more we break down barriers and build a stronger, more empathetic nation that recognizes and supports the needs of our military families. We are honored that Stronghold Food Pantry was chosen as one of the 2024 Fisher Service Award recipients. As a nonprofit, we depend on the partnership of like-minded organizations so we can continue the imperative work of combating food insecurity in the military. Fisher House Foundation and Military Times helped support our program to improve the quality of life for military and veteran communities. With this grant, we will be able to strengthen and expand our Ambassador program, which allows us to reach military families facing food insecurity across the globe. Stronghold's Ambassador Program leverages technology and innovation to deliver fresh and nonperishable groceries to military and veteran families worldwide. By activating our Ambassadors globally, we transform the traditional food pantry model into a movement for new service delivery. With the help of this incredible grant, we will continue to bridge cutting-edge solutions with genuine human connection, prioritizing compassion and integrity while fostering empowerment and a cycle of positivity for all. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a Joyful New Year from the entire Stronghold team. We are so excited to see what 2024 has in store for us. But in the meantime, we’re enjoying a well-deserved break to spend time with loved ones near and far!

Today is a big day for the Stronghold community ... thanks to the tireless work of our CEO and founder Monica Bassett, our team, our partners and our full community of volunteers we opened our second location at Fort Leonard Wood. It is an honor and privilege to continue to serve the #militarycommunity and stand in the gap for the service members and their families experiencing #foodinsecurity.

We recognize that there are many nonprofits with amazing causes in the military space so it is an honor to be chosen and supported by Brittany Boccher, National Director VA Strategy & Military Engagement, and the Newrez LLC Team. Stronghold's Founder and CEO, Monica Bassett, traveled to Dallas for the Newrez 2023 Veterans Day Luncheon. While there, Stronghold Food Pantry was awarded with a very generous donation, much to our surprise! This donation was gifted to continue our work of standing the gap and supporting the 24% of military families facing #foodinsecurity. With these funds, Stronghold looks forward to establishing a stronger Ambassador network — within all service branches, across the globe. Our Ambassadors assist their local #militaryfamilies facing food insecurity, providing much needed pantry staples and fresh groceries. The generosity of Newrez will allow Stronghold to increase the support from 12 states and 3 countries to many more in its second year of operation. Stronghold looks forward to this partnership and bringing more impactful and meaningful events to the #military community. This #givingtuesday the Stronghold team is kicking it into high gear 💪 🕺 🌎 We launched our global Ambassador program, feeding military families in need of cheer and support in Japan, Germany, Korea and across the US ☕ Locally we're hosting a special event at our Fort Leavenworth location at which military families will receive basic needs, winter gear, groceries and Starbucks gift cards!
