Our team is undertaking a detailed concrete restoration process to maintain the structural and aesthetic integrity of this historic landmark. Here are some of the key tasks in our scope of work: 🏛 Addressing spalls and cracks, ensuring long-lasting durability. 🏛 Reinforcing the structural integrity through meticulous x-bracing repairs. 🏛 Repairing 48 knee braces across the tower levels while preserving adjacent areas, a critical step in fortifying the perimeter wall. 🏛 Cleaning and repairing existing steel beams, framing, and columns to extend their lifespan. 🏛 Adding waterproofing and traffic coating to roof terrace decks post-repair to ensure protection against future elements. Every step is performed with precision, respect for historical significance, and a dedication to quality. We specialize in advanced structural reinforcement techniques at #SBR, such as #BeamEnlargement to improve the strength and load capacity of existing structures. An great example is our work performed at #LakeMaryHospital, where we used Fiberglass Reinforced Panels (FRP) and cast-in-place concrete enlargements to enhance existing beams. Here's a step-by-step breakdown of the process: 🛠 Before any work began, we installed temporary shoring systems to safely support the structure. This ensured stability while we worked on the beam enlargements. 🛠 We roughed the beam surfaces to create a proper bonding area for the new concrete, an essential step to ensure that the enlargement adheres securely. 🛠 Strengthening was done by installing FRP on the beams and then enlarging them with cast-in-place reinforced concrete, increasing their structural capacity. This technique is highly effective for increasing load resistance without replacing the original beams. 🛠 To further reinforce the enlargements, we drilled, epoxied, and bent rebar dowels, ensuring the new concrete is tightly connected to the existing structure. 🛠 The enlarged beams were formed, and concrete was poured. We took special care in patching and finishing any existing areas to maintain a seamless integration. This method allows us to strengthen structures without the need for complete demolition, making it both cost-effective and efficient.
