The #StudioSWCrew donned their hard hats and vests for a construction site walk-though at the Loma Linda Community Center. 🚧 🔨 As a place mindful of accommodations necessary for children and adults with disabilities, this community center is going through some innovative design changes! These include the addition of seating areas in the multi-functional gymnasium for rest and reprieve, updated kitchen areas, and new computer, game, and arts & crafts rooms. 🎨 🎉 #ArchitectureIsGood #StudioSWCrew #StudioSWProud #ABQCommunity #DesignForAccessibility

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 Take a look at the latest from our Cadence/ OpenEye Molecular Sciences headquarters project. Our team transformed this space into a cohesive, high-quality headquarters in response to our client’s desire to connect existing office space to new construction via seamless design. Located in Santa Fe, NM, this project captures the innovative spirit and dynamic environment inherent to the state’s capital, a perfect setting for a software development company. Notable project highlights include the combination of mid-century and Japanese Zen influences to create a cohesive, aesthetically pleasing environment, successful integration of two existing buildings with a new addition - maintaining operational continuity throughout construction – and crafty material substitution that not only resolved supply issues but also contributed to the design's contemporary appeal. 📸 : Matt Oberer #ArchitectureIsGood #HighDesertDesign #AdaptableDesign #NewProject

𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞 Studio SW and Bohannan Huston, Inc. designed the Valencia County Transit Facility as the home of Rio Metro’s Valencia County Bus services in Las Lunas, New Mexico. 🚍 Designed in the spirit of the agricultural character of the surrounding area, this building includes sky lights, open ceilings, and structural truss framing as a nod to the locale’s typical hangars, hay storage, and maintenance bays structures. This aspect adheres to a central #StudioSWCrew objective: utilizing opportunities to highlight the comprehensive context of a building, including the landscape surrounding it! 🌄 This project utilized the Buy America program, a Federal Transit Administration program that helps fund projects that utilize steel, iron and manufactured goods produced In the United States. 📸 : Patrick Coulie #ArchitectureIsGood #ArchitectureForNewMexico

Members of the #StudioSWCrew got down to earth at the Loma Linda Community Center garden. 🌻 This no-till community garden usually serves Loma Linda visitors by providing fresh produce and a safe place to socialize, reflect and/or steward the land. While the community center is under construction and implementing innovative designs from Studio Southwest, volunteers Maggie and Jeff have led crews like ours in up keeping the garden space while imparting their awesome no-till gardening advice. #ArchitectureIsGood #StudioSWProud #StudioSWCrew #ABQCommunity

𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐁𝐐 𝐁𝐢𝐨𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐙𝐨𝐨'𝐬 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐙𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐞 This project was guided by the BioPark’s conservation message, “Our Actions Matter!” and sought to immerse visitors in both authentic Aboriginal Australian culture and Australia’s coastal landscapes. The #StudioSWCrew thoughtfully designed a journey through Freshwater, Saltwater, and Dryland Country, complete with an array of custom murals, interactive elements, and animal habitats that collectively offer a comprehensive exploration of Australian ecosystems. Studio SW believes architecture is much more than a design or physical structure and we strive to engage in practice that satisfies our desire to create and enriches the lives of our clients and community. This project accomplishes this objective by delivering an immersive Australian zoological experience that supports the BioPark’s mission and provides a rich, educational environment for both animals and visitors. 📸 : Matt Oberer #ArchitectureIsGood #SustainableExhibit #ExhibitDesign #NewProject #ConstructionWatch

𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝘀 ✨ Part of the #StudioSWCrew took some time to sit down and collaborate on potential design solutions for revitalizing a historic project in Southern New Mexico 🏛 Our design teams thrive on creative thinking and collaboration. We see architecture as a combination of elements: function, design, sustainability, and cost. A successful architectural project complements the user function, has deliberate aesthetics, and in this instance - preserves the original building's history while finding the balance with modern aesthetics and fulfilling the community's needs. #ArchitectureIsGood #CollaborativeDesign #MondayMotivation #HistoricRenovation

Phase 1 of our Australia Exhibit is finally open at the ABQ BioPark Zoo! Our team worked collaboratively with Boomalli Consulting to ensure the culture of Australia's First Nation people were represented in the most accurate and respectful way possible. On the other hand, our collaboration with BioPark staff ensured the renovated spaces were safe and enriching for our new penguins and birds, but also easy to maintain for the care team. We can't wait for the rest of our community to experience it! #ABQBioPark #ZoologicalDesign #RibbonCutting #ProjectHighlight #ConstructionWatch #ArchitectureIsGood
