The founding story of Subbey is rooted in the determination of a passionate teacher, Shea McGee, who witnessed his administration and fellow educators grappling with the recurring challenge of getting teacher’s relief when they needed a day off. Schools like Shea’s rely on Teachers to text, email, and call Subs until they have one that wants the Job. Let’s not forget the value of a mental health day. Teachers need to be encouraged to take time for themselves but for a lot of Schools, it’s more of a headache to take off than Teachers may find worth it. Shea wasted no time in mobilizing a team of motivated app developers and seasoned business advisors. Together, they embarked on an ambitious journey to develop an app that could revolutionize how substitute teachers were recruited and managed. Subbey is now in the Apple App Store and on Google Play.
