Today, we’re excited to highlight SumIt’s Founding Engineer, Alex Tironati! ⭐ Alex found a passion for startups while working co-ops during his time in undergrad at Northeastern University. After graduation, he joined EverTrue, a Boston-based startup building fundraising software for colleges, where he worked for seven years. After some time and a job change, Alex found himself in contact with the SumIt team, who was hiring a founding engineer. He spoke with SumIt’s co-founders and was drawn to the the product idea and genuine, authentic conversations they had about the future of the company. So, when he was presented with an offer to join the team and help build SumIt’s product, his gut told him it was the right move. When asked about the decision to join SumIt as the fourth employee, Alex said, “The most important aspect for me was who I was going to be working with. During the interview process, everything was so organic and natural — it just felt like a conversation. I feel that a position like this is not something you can always search for, but more like one you’re lucky to stumble into. Next up in our SumIt Spotlight series is Jared Baumer, our Founding Customer Success Manager! Believe it or not, Jared originally went to college for aviation but later decided to change his major to accounting. From there, he decided that rather than becoming a CPA, he wanted to work for early-stage software companies, particularly within the accounting industry. Jared spent the first few years of his career in customer success at AuditBoard, which he found to be a great match with his accounting background. He then got into contact with SumIt and decided to join the founding team! When asked about what attracted him to SumIt specifically, he said, “I saw a lot of market signals in the space that SumIt operates in that there was a need for this type of product. Having started career as an auditor and later transitioning to tech, he saw a huge opportunity in accounting and wealth technology. Pablo made strong connections with family offices and accounting firms, and eventually came across SumIt on LinkedIn. After discovering the product and its focus on the needs of family office clients, he decided to officially join the SumIt team! Outside of work, Pablo enjoys keeping strong and working out on the beach in San Francisco, where he lives with his wife, two daughters, and corgi.
