About us
Effective team building and leadership development adventures for Corporations, Educational institutions, Non-Profit organizations, as well as Youth, Teen, and Young Adults. Based in the concepts of experiential education, Summit Academy Adventures uses scientifically researched approaches to building strong teams and effective leaders. Experiential education is a field of education where the experience itself becomes the teacher. This involves the setting, the activities, the facilitator, and the groups themselves. A major component involves taking groups away from their comfort zones to push their skills and potential. Most programs will take place in adventure settings outdoors. To build a highly functioning team one must become aware of their limitations and abilities. This can be determined by examining the group's communication, cooperation, competence, complacency, and empathy. Thus a program is custom developed to target areas of growth. The aim is to create proper objectives for the needs of the group while focusing on outcomes. Outcomes are measurable and can be tracked based on proper evaluation from the group members.

The U.S. youth camp industry contributes $70 billion to the national economy, accounting for the total value of the camp industry’s production and its ripple effects—which include business-to-business purchases and labor income. “This project is the first national economic impact study for the industry conducted since 1982 and builds on state-level and regional economic impact analyses conducted over the last 15 years,” said Sarah Crane, PhD, director of research at U-M’s Economic Growth Institute, who conducted the study with EGI research project manager Eli McClain. The study, a collaborative effort between EGI and the American Camp Association, revealed that the youth camp industry’s total annual economic impact is significant, with $23 billion in labor income attributed to a combination of direct, indirect and induced impacts. #SummerCampEconomy https://lnkd.in/g9RXQAen
