So we at the @summitrecoveryhub have outgrown our space in 9 months! If you come to our Tuesday, Wednesday or Saturday meetings you know what we’re talking about! So we’re doubling our space thanks to the generous support of the One Ohio Recovery Foundation that allows us to grow from 2400sf to 4800sf! It doesn’t look like much right now, and there’s a heck of a backstory about the previous tenants (suffice to say that end of 2023 the DEA, FBI and SWAT did a sting and shut their enterprise down.) Renovation starts this week. We’re making one whole 1200sf unit into one large meeting space that can hold 75-100 folks, another medium sized room holding maybe 35-40 and a really nice lounge area with coffee bar. We’ll also have a little storage area and our transportation hub for our upcoming transportation service we’re starting in early 2925! Exciting times. (And yes, that is a stripper pole in there…🙄

Cool thing happened today. Someone who came from a partner organization with new, exciting #harmreduction supplies for the Summit Recovery Hub asked me if we need any help on the weekends? We’d love to extend our weekend hours on Friday into the evening, Saturday extended the day and be open on Sunday (Seven days a week) for our peer run, Recovery drop in Center. This person wanted to work all those shifts! We just got some funding to extend our hours and staffing and this seems the perfect fit. I didn’t know who we were gonna get but this Seems wonderful. #serendipity

We had a lovely #recoverycommunity dinner today at the Summit Recovery hub Bryan “Shappy” Shapiro from CMS made some pulled pork and coleslaw and everyone got a nice plate. Even had some leftover for one of the recovery homes that came to take to feed their folks over the weekend! Join us from 5-7pm the First Friday of the month for a free meal! (Donations welcome). 🙏

Today was incredible as we brought together a couple hundred of our #recoverycommunity together to celebrate the end of #RecoveryMonth. We had lots of cookout grab, giant yard games and cornhole, music from Marc Lee Shannon and Chrissy Strong presented by The Summit FM. We want to thank Ohio Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services for their support to make wonderful community events like this possible and help us support and sustain our many pathways of recovery while building recovery capital and connections. We’re really lucky to have amazing support from the County of Summit ADM Board.
