Summits in Solidarity fosters justice and equity by amplifying BIPOC voices in outdoor spaces.

About us

Summits in Solidarity is a non-profit organization founded in 2020 by hikers from Wobanadenok (The White Mountains of NH). Our mission is to foster justice and equity for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) by amplifying BIPOC voices in outdoor spaces, supporting anti-oppression and anti-racist efforts, and mobilizing hikers and outdoor recreation community members to dismantle white supremacy. Anyone can participate in from anywhere in the country. SiS has three key components: 1) the annual #SummitsInSolidarity campaign, where people publicly express their solidarity with and raise money for BIPOC justice work from outdoor spaces across the country, 2) the winter Me and White Supremacy challenge, where we work with white people to identify and dismantle white supremacy within themselves, and 3) ongoing sharing of resources related to the BIPOC experience while hiking/in the outdoors.
