Our EMT students are gaining critical skills in every training session. Yesterday, they learned about N95 fit testing with Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service - the official training provider for our EMT program. Fit testing is a detailed process that ensures each mask creates a proper seal around the face. This prevents harmful particles, like bacteria and viruses, from entering the respiratory system. For EMTs working in unpredictable, high-risk situations, it’s essential that these masks fit correctly to protect them when they’re responding to emergencies. During the fit test, students are trained on how to wear their masks, how to adjust them for the best fit, and how to check for any air leaks. This hands-on training prepares our students for real-world scenarios where safety and protection are critical. A properly fitted mask can make all the difference in the field, allowing EMTs to do their jobs with confidence.
