Super Kings Academy is an initiative by Chennai Super Kings to hone the next generation of cricketers providing state-of-the-art facilities, expert coaching methodologies, and ample opportunities. Launched in April 2022, the Super Kings Academy currently has 10 centres across Tamil Nadu apart from centres in Berkshire (United Kingdom) and Dallas (United States of America).

    India and Tamil Nadu bowler T Natarajan launched the new Super Kings Academy centre at Sunbeam School, Vellore on Monday (October 28). The Super Kings Academy in Vellore is a franchise-based cricket coaching centre comprising of eight pitches (3 Turf, 3 Astro Turf and 2 Matting Pitches) and floodlights apart from a full fledged cricket ground with a turf pitch. Louis Mariano (Director of Cricket, Super Kings Academy), Dr Harigopalan T (Chairman, Sunbeam School), Dr George Arvind (Vice Chairman, Sunbeam School), Dr Thangaprakash (Correspondent, Sunbeam School) and S Sridharan (Vellore District Cricket Association Secretary) were the other guests of honour.     Super Kings Academy will open its 13th center in Tamil Nadu in partnership with Sunbeam CBSE School in Vellore. This will be the 17th center overall including three overseas locations (UK, USA and Australia). Cricket coaching for boys and girls will begin in October 2024.     Following 11 centres in Tamil Nadu and three overseas, the Super Kings Academy is set to launch in Madurai through a franchise-based partnership with Kalvi International Public School. The Academy in Madurai will be a state-of-the-art centre equipped with 2 turf, 3 astro turf and 2 matting wickets apart from floodlights for evening practice, a gym and a ground.     Our students in Super Kings Academy took part in a four day Spin Camp in Chennai. Louis Mariano - the Director of Cricket of Super Kings Academy conducted the camp. The following were the learnings for the students: First day: Video recording of bowling action. The students also had a classroom session where they learnt finger spin and wrist spin techniques Second day: On Day 2, video analysis of the bowling actions took place and the students took part in corrective drills Third day: Summary of the first 2 days and discussion in detail of what they learnt in the first 2 days. This was followed by a discussion on how to bowl on different wickets - matting wicket, turf wicket etc. Fourth Day: Day 4 involved a summary of the entire camp plus final corrective drills #TrainLikeASuperKing🦁 #SuperKingsAcademy🏏

    Our new Super Kings Academy center is coming to SV High School, Vanagaram. This is our fourth centre in Chennai and our 14th center overall. The practice facility will be equipped with five turf wickets, three Astro Turf, two matting wickets and floodlights. The center will also be equipped with a ground.     Three New Zealand cricketers – Tim Robinson, Dean Foxcroft and Mitch Hay along with the New Zealand spin bowling coach Paul Wiseman visited our Super Kings Academy in Chennai for a two week camp. The three New Zealand players were part of the Super Kings Academy team, and our boys also got excellent exposure playing against TNPL team Nellai Royal Kings.
