Ethical risks in AI are on the rise. 🧗🏼 According to recent insights, cognitive technologies like GenAI, machine learning, and neural networks are seen as the most ethically challenging—surpassing autonomous vehicles and robotics. But they’re also viewed as the most likely to drive social good. 🌍 With the increasing use of GenAI, there's growing concern about data security and the expansion of attack surfaces. As more people gain access to powerful AI tools, the risk of data leakage grows too. At SurePath, we’re focused on balancing AI’s potential with responsible governance. “Bruh, how many water bottles does your model even use?” - unnamed SurePathian But in all seriousness, did you know that generating AI responses can take a surprising toll on our environment? Recent reports like those named in this Windows Central article show that producing just 100 words from AI models like GPT-4 can consume up to 3 bottles of water, depending on where the data center is located. 😮 As we witness incredible advances in AI, it’s important to consider not only data security but also the environmental impact of AI technology. This challenge is not just about improving algorithms but also ensuring that AI is sustainable and energy-efficient for the future. Our team believes in responsible AI governance, not only by protecting sensitive data but also by optimizing how AI systems are used to minimize unnecessary resource consumption. How should AI companies balance innovation with sustainability? What can we do to ensure AI's future is both secure and eco-friendly? https://hubs.ly/Q02Rqq860

Did you know some social media platforms, just like the one we're on now, have settings that opt you in to sharing your data to train AI models, often buried under multiple layers of toggles? While #GenAI holds incredible potential, we believe the path to innovation should prioritize awareness and consent. If AI tools are built using our data, we deserve a say in how it's used. Our team is committed to promoting ethical AI practices that strike a balance between innovation and data privacy. Here's how you can check and adjust your data sharing settings for AI right here on LinkedIn: 1️⃣ Go to your LinkedIn Privacy settings. 2️⃣ Scroll to Data for Generative AI Improvement settings. 3️⃣ Choose how you want your data to be used (on/off). You have control over your data—don't let it get lost in the fine print!

Did you know that 9 out of 10 employers are on the lookout for candidates with "ChatGPT experience"? As reported by Resume Builder this trend highlights the growing importance of AI proficiency in today's job market. While some companies are fully allowing this technology, others are opting for a ~little~ more cautious approach by blocking it. Why? Many executives are concerned about protecting sensitive or proprietary information. The fear is real: employees might inadvertently reference trade secrets or client info while querying AI tools. However, the reality of these bans often leads to a significant disconnect. Many employees are choosing to ignore these restrictions, citing that tools like ChatGPT enhance their productivity and performance. In fact, over one third of respondents believe that the information they provide to AI tools remains confidential. But let’s be clear—ChatGPT holds no secrets. Information shared with AI can resurface in the public domain at any time, posing a risk to corporate integrity and confidentiality. ⚠️ So, what’s the way forward? 1. Education over enforcement. Companies should prioritize educating employees about the risks associated with AI while also providing guidance on best practices for safe usage. 2. Group and policy implementation. Instead of outright bans, organizations can create clear policies that outline acceptable use cases for AI tools, ensuring both productivity and protection (and do it by groups or roles!). 3. Transparency. Encouraging open dialogue about AI's role in the workplace can bridge the gap between management and employees, fostering a more collaborative environment. As we navigate what it takes to win in AI, it’s crucial for us to find a balance that leverages the benefits of AI while safeguarding sensitive information. What are your thoughts on AI in the workplace? Are you team allow, team block, or team lead with us?! ⬇️ #GenAI #AI #ChatGPT #Productivity #SurePathAI #SurePath https://hubs.ly/Q02Qnp7_0
