Advancing global sustainability through technology leadership.

About us

For too long, sustainability has been someone else’s problem to solve. As technology leaders, we drive digital transformation programs that unlock the art of the possible. Together we can define sustainable transformation programs, author best practices and frameworks, set standards and certifications for governance, provide education and training, and raise awareness for environmental and societal programs that make our organizations and the world sustainable for generations to come. It’s time technology leaders take a stand for sustainability, as one. SustainableIT.org is a 501(c)(6) Delaware nonprofit, non-stock legal entity.

  • 🌍 It’s Digital Cleanup Day! 🗑️📱 Once a year we are reminded of the classic tips to declutter our digital space: delete emails, close tabs, clear cookies, and so on. While these are helpful, why don’t we make them a regular habit? Is it because we don’t truly understand the magnitude of these small contributions? Here are some eye-opening facts to help put the concept of digital clutter into perspective: -- One email emits, on average, 4g of CO2 = the carbon footprint of a light bulb turned on for 6 minutes! -- The Internet produces more than 900 million tons of CO2 each year! -- In 2022, about 70 million servers were used to store data. Each one caused the production of 1–2 tons of CO2. In that year, about 20 million of them became e-waste. -- 90% of all data is never accessed 3 months after it is stored. 🧹In our increasingly digital world, it’s easy to overlook the impact of e-waste. Today, let’s take a moment to clean up our digital spaces! There’s much to be done from organizing our email inboxes… to donating unused laptops to the 100k Laptop initiative! 💻The 100K Laptop Initiative, run by and in collaboration with Human-I-T, is aimed to collect, refurbish and redistribute unused laptops to new homes. Every step helps us stay productive, secure, and mindful of our digital footprint. 🌱Check out the list below for some simple digital cleanup tips that you can incorporate into your DAILY routine, and consider donating your unused technology today⬇️  https://lnkd.in/eNjRzuXN #DigitalCleanupDay #Productivity #Cybersecurity #DigitalDeclutter #TechWellness #SustainableIT
