About us

The Suwannee River Water Management District is one of five regional water management districts in Florida, created by the Florida Legislature through passage of the Water Resources Act of 1972. Suwannee is the smallest of the state's water management districts in terms of geographic area, population served, tax base, and agency staff. The Suwannee River Water Management District manages water and related natural resources in north-central Florida by providing water quality and quantity monitoring, research, regulation, land acquisition and management, and flood protection.

  • Looking for a highly skilled Data Analyst III to join our team! The Data Analyst III and Senior Data Analyst are professional positions that collects, compiles, reviews, analyzes, and interprets data, and develops procedures for maintaining and integrating the District’s environmental data. This includes automation of data processes, analysis and reporting routines, developing quality control procedures, and assessing data needs and formats. This position assists multiple District offices including Hydrologic Data Services, Water Supply, Minimum Flows and Minimum Levels, Agricultural and Engineering Projects, IT/GIS, and Water Use Permitting. APPLY ONLINE AT www.MySuwanneeRiver.com Education and experience requirements: ~A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in science or mathematics programs such as hydrology, a natural science, or engineering and three (3) years of professional experience in data collection, data processing, and/or data management; experience in water resource data management is preferred. ~A master's degree from an accredited college or university in science or mathematics programs such as hydrology, a natural science, or engineering can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience. ~Professional experience in data collection, data processing, and/or data management can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education; water resource data management or data quality assurance experience is preferred. ~Working knowledge and experience with programming languages Python and Perl are required. ~Valid drivers’ license. ~Experience with Hydstra software and database management and ESRI/ArcGIS geodatabase analysis and management are preferred. ~Working knowledge and experience with R programming language and SAS analytical software are preferred. ~Experience analyzing extensive datasets using complex parametric and/or nonparametric statistical analyses is preferred.
