Great to see local companies investing in students and future members of our workforce.. What is your business doing to support?
3M invests $7,500 in scholarships for Electro-Mechanical Technology program students Southwest Tech is the recipient of a $7,500 grant from 3M. The 3M Manufacturing and Academic Partnerships (MAP) program is a vital initiative designed to address the growing challenge in the United States of a shortage of skilled trade workers. This program was launched by 3M in response to the increasing retirement rate among the older workforce at some of its plants, leaving a void in skilled labor that needs to be filled. #SWTCProud • Full article: https://lnkd.in/gZv_kPge
The Career Fair season is in our midst.. What is your business doing to engage with the school districts to support the growth of our children?
Thankful that we could engage with CESA and SW Wisconsin school districts to help move our region forward. Getting engaged is the first step to moving forward!! What are you doing in your regions to support communities, educators, and local governments?
We were honored to recently host a panel of employers from the manufacturing industry in Southwest Wisconsin representing the new manufacturing alliance, SWAG in Manufacturing, to talk with CTE representatives from the school districts in our CESA 3 region. One main topic of the panel discussion was the need for students - and people of all ages - to have the essential skills such as being reliable and accountable, along with the ability to work in teams and communicate. SWAG in Manufacturing is dedicated to connecting with educators and students to increase awareness for career pathways within manufacturing organizations, which can range from accounting, sales, marketing, and management to supply chain, IT, engineering, and so many more. Learn more about SWAG in Manufacturing at www.swag-manufacturing.com or \@swag.manufacturing and contact Jessica Helms at jhelms@cesa3.org to explore ways you can help connect education and industry. \#cesa3 #empoweringeducators
