For parts that require enhanced electroconductive resistance and corrosion resistance, we offer chromate treatment, also known as Alodine®, yellow Bonderite®, Iridite®, and chem film. Chromating passivates parts made from aluminum, cadmium, copper, magnesium, steel, tin alloy, and zinc, creating a protective film that bonds to the base metal both physically and chemically. For defense industry parts, we apply chromate that meets MIL-C-5541 and MIL-DTL-5541 military standards. (The terms are interchangeable.) We also offer RoHS-compliant chromate, which appears clear instead of the typical chromate yellow or brown tone.
