Jeneice was injured in a car accident in 2014, resulting in T4 paraplegia. She has not been independent in the water since her injury over 10 years ago! The day of her lesson with Swim Angelfish, Jeneice was planning to participate in the Life Rolls on adaptive surf event the following day. After one lesson with us, she was able to comfortably control her body float, and go underwater! This also made her surf experience the next day much more enjoyable for her. We are so proud of Jeniece and her resilience and commitment to achieving her goals. She never thought this would be possible. It just goes to show that anything is possible with the right skills and training in adaptive aquatics. 🎥 watch here! https://lnkd.in/dNPXFzs7 #spinalcordinjury #awareness #nationalawarenessmonth

WOW! Our recent Virginia Beach adventure was packed with inspiring and transformative moments👇 From the private in-water workshop and training session for the instructors that Swim Whisperers®-certified from the Eliza Hope Foundation and the YMCA at JT’s Camp Grom in VA beach, to volunteering with the Spinal Cord Association of VA and the group @spinalpedia for their #2024adventurousweekend, to our last stop with the @liferollsonfoundation at their Virginia Beach surf event…. Our week was filled with the most incredible people, the most inspiring stories, and the most spectacular days 🫶 Visit our latest blog post to read all about our trip, including the remarkable woman we had the honor of providing a swim lesson to. She was in a car accident 10 years ago and is a T4 paraplegic. https://lnkd.in/dpsftf8q In just one lesson with us, she successfully transitioned to independent back floating and developed body control for safely submerging and doing a rollover to take the side of the pool. It was incredible. #virginiabeach #volunteering #liferollson #elizahopefoundation #spinalcordinjury #inspiration #t4 #surfing #ymca
