March Meditation #2: Jaime leads us through a simple 5:30 meditation practice to settle our racing minds and bring our attention back to our breath and the present moment. ALSO, Jaime is offering a LIVE meditation practice every Thursday from 12-12:30pm starting 3/27! Email jgildea@syfs-ma.org to sign up. No experience necessary, there's no cost, and, as Jaime says, EVERYONE is welcome.

Over SYFS’s 40+ years, the majority of staff and influential leaders have been women, providing professional and accessible #counseling and support to youth and families, and shaping and growing the organization through the decades. To recognize these contributions both past and current we’re profiling some of our wonderful colleagues throughout March, #WomensHistoryMonth! First up, Abigail Westerlind, LMHC!

This International Women's Day we celebrate the many women, past and current, who have lifted up youth and families through their dedication to SYFS. Women have largely shaped the growth and mission of our meaningful work through the years. We'll profile some of our current staff members throughout the month! We also recognize the many girls, women, and mothers who have done the work as clients to heal and strengthen themselves and their families. We see and appreciate you ALL!

We're looking for our next PT Admin. Assistant! Great fit for someone with office experience looking for mom/dad hours, to pair with another PT gig, someone who has gone back to school, etc. Huge plus if you're also down with our mission to provide accessible mental health counseling! https://lnkd.in/eGbyy24k

When the world feels heavy or lonely, we like to try to pay attention to the glimmers in a day. Glimmers are small moments of joy or peace, which help cue our nervous system to feel calmer or safer. In difficult times we sometimes tell ourselves it's not ok to laugh or feel joy, yet it's even more important to give that to yourself during such times! Glimmers can be hearing a snippet of a favorite song on a stranger's phone, your child's laughter, the sky at sunset, the smell of your grandma's recipe baking, etc. Pay attention to your own!

February is #BlackHistoryMonth, a time to intentionally reflect on and appreciate the many contributions of Black people, yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is also a time to renew the call for dismantling oppressive systems in #MentalHealth and continuing to work to overcome stigma. Learn more and find resources in the Mental Health Coalition's Roadmap to Black Mental Health. Thank you for this important resource!

Held a 1/2-day team-building retreat at @Puzzlescape! Started with #meditation and whole-group activities (finding commonalities and shifting #perspective when working as a team), then we split into two escape rooms and wrapped up with lunch from The Rail Trail Flatbread Co.! And yes, we escaped both rooms! #teambuilding #mentalhealth #groupdynamics #workteam #communitycare
