With recent FOMC decisions and shifting yield curves, many investors may be focusing too much on short-term volatility, thanks to Availability Bias. But what if this is exactly the opportunity you’ve been waiting for? The bond market has historically outperformed stocks during periods of yield curve reversion, yet many miss out due to short-term thinking. Now could be the time to rethink your bond allocation and take advantage of the inefficiencies created by this bias. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself: Why do I do what I do? Everyone has a reason that drives them, something deeper than just a paycheck or a promotion. Maybe it’s the joy of solving complex problems, the desire to create a meaningful legacy, or the commitment to making a difference in the lives of others. Understanding your "why" is powerful. It’s what gives purpose, fuels your passion, and helps you push through the tough days. It’s the core of who you are and what you bring to the world. Helping people find their WHY and help build their financial future around it is what goals based financial planning is all about. So, what’s YOUR why? Whether you’re driven by family, creativity, or the impact you make, share your why in the comments below. Just got this question, should I payoff a 401K loan or tackle the car loan? Here are the details: 401(k) Loan: $14k remaining at 5% Car Loan: $22k remaining at 4.6% You have $14k set aside to pay off the 401(k) loan. The Big Question: Should you pay off the 401(k) loan now or should you put the $14k directly toward the car note? Here’s how to think about it: 1️. Interest Rates: While the car loan has a slightly lower rate (4.6% vs. 5%), the difference is minimal. However, the 401(k) loan uses after-tax dollars, making it less efficient in the long run. Paying it off means you’ll stop making those after-tax payments and free up more cash flow. 2. Opportunity Cost: Paying off the 401(k) loan frees up your retirement savings. That money can go back into your account, working for you in the market and compounding over time. The longer you delay, the more you miss out on potential growth. 3. Car Loan Flexibility: By paying off the 401(k) loan, you can direct future payments toward the car loan principal, effectively reducing the total interest paid. Once the 401(k) loan is gone, you have flexibility in how aggressive you want to be in tackling the car loan. 💡 The Plan: - Pay off the 401(k) loan with the $14k. This clears out the higher-interest, after-tax loan and gets you back on track for retirement savings. - Then, take the payments you were making on the 401(k) loan and apply them to the car loan principal. This accelerates the car loan payoff without locking all your cash into one lump sum payment upfront. 👉 Final Thought: Focus on getting rid of the 401(k) loan first, then aggressively tackle the car loan. It balances your long-term retirement goals with debt reduction. How would you deal with this scenario? #PersonalFinance #DebtStrategy #401k #FinancialPlanning

"Should I donate to charity from my business or personal account?" A simple take for all you non-accounting types. If you are a sole proprietor or an LLC, it counts as a personal deduction. Only C Corporations can actually make charitable donations as a business. (Sofi) And most people typically do not reach the threshold of having it make an impact on their taxes anyways. Unless you donate an amount above the standard deduction ($29,200 for married couples filing jointly in 2024), it doesn't make too much of a difference. It depends on whether you are itemizing your deductions. This is just a general starting point and best to discuss with your CPA on your situation. Many of our clients are involved in charitable giving and attend yearly charitable events, and we give them options on how they can help maximize it. Send me a note if you want to know how this may work for you.
