A blank sheet is sometimes the most intimidating thing in the world. With open architecture DSP solutions such as the Symetrix Inc. Composer series, this is what we are faced with when we start designing for a new project. I doesn't need to be scary, though as Symetrix Composer ships whith a load of design templates that will help you get started. I've built up my own set of templates that have given dozens of customers a helping hand. Rather than keep such things locked away on my own PC, I thought I should start sharing these more openly. The first template I'm sharing is for multi-zone music distribution in hospitality applications. This design is targeted at the Prism 8x8 Dante (easy to change the hardware type in Composer if required) and includes amongst other things: > Input processing including EQ, automatic gain and compressor limiters > Input source selection for each zone > Zone volume controls > Routing matrix > Loudspeaker management > Dante inputs from xIO Bluetooth and xIO XLR > Dante outputs > ARC remote controls > W Series remote controls > T Series touchscreen remote > SymVue control screen for PC or Symetrix Control Server > ARC Web virtual remote controls > Remote control number allocations for 3rd party control > Fire alarm mute Whether you are new to Symetrix Composer, an old hand or just Symetrix curious, this template file will give you a good insight in to how to set up the most common features and hardware for a hospitality venue.
