Synapticure is proud to present the results of TWO ground-breaking studies at the Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS) conference this week. Dr. Danielle Geraldi-Samara, MD and Abigail O’Connell shared our findings on the care and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and their impacts including: 💭 The importance of mental health care as part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Through our Collaborative Mental Health Care Program, we found our patients had a: ✅ 30% reduction in anxiety symptoms ✅ 28% reduction in depression symptoms 🧪 How we can increase accessibility through virtual trials and drive better research. Through our successful participation in #CLENE, the first fully-remote study for ALS patients, we’re demonstrating the power of virtual trials to: ✅ Expand access for patients living far from clinical sites. ✅ Include more underrepresented populations in research, creating more diverse and accurate data to drive medical breakthroughs. Thank you to Northeast ALS Consortium (NEALS) for hosting this impactful event. As advocates for the advancement of care, treatment, AND research of neurodegenerative diseases, we couldn’t be more honored to take part. 💙 More soon! #ClinicalResearch #AccesstoCare #MentalHealthAwareness #Alzheimers #Dementia #ALS #Parkinsons #Huntingtons

On this #MentalHealthAwarenessDay, we’re highlighting the importance of mental health in neurodegenerative care. Neuropsychiatric symptoms can greatly impact quality of life for those living with neurodegnerative diseases like ALS and Parkinson’s. That's why Synapticure launched a Collaborative Mental Healthcare Program in late 2023. Over just 4 months, our patients have seen a 30% reduction in anxiety and a 28% reduction in depression symptoms. With therapies like family and group sessions, we’re helping patients and caregivers manage the emotional toll of their diagnosis. We’re proud to bring these results to light today, knowing that comprehensive care includes mental health support. Our movement disorders neurologists Dr. Liz Ferluga and Dr. Jaime Hatcher-Martin, MD, PhD, FAAN had a great time attending the #MDSCongress2024 hosted by the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society where they explored the future of science and care. They caught up with colleagues from around the world, like Ray Dorsey - pictured here, who is one of Synapticure's Movement Disorders Advisors - to discuss the latest hot topics in Movement Disorders. Dr. Martin had this to share: "This year’s conference had a lot of great discussion regarding the need to have more objective methods of characterizing #ParkinsonDisease and its progression, especially in prodromal PD (those who will eventually develop PD but do not have clinical symptoms yet) and in the setting of clinical trials so we can better assess treatments and their effects. There was also a lot more discussion about multiple different types of pathology in movement disorders - Parkinson’s, PSP, MSA, #Huntington’s - and how it’s likely we will need to focus on multiple targets for effective treatments to slow the progression of these disorders.” We're excited to see how these discussions will drive future advancements in care and improve outcomes for those living with movement disorders.
