Diane Christman and Camilla Formica had an exciting and productive week in the UK! Their trip began with a visit to Liberty Global’s Hammersmith offices to meet with Madalina Suceveanu, Managing Director of Mobile & Cloud. They then headed to the offices of board member Paul Broadhurst, where they toured the corporate space, met team members, and enjoyed the charm of a small-town British pub. One highlight was dinner at one of Camilla’s favorite Italian restaurants in Knightsbridge with Advisory Council member Lauren Trudeau and her husband, Mark Trudeau, CEO of OpenVault LLC. On Saturday, they attended the SCTEUK anniversary gala at Lincoln’s Inn—one of the first Inns of Court, with roots going back to the 13th century. The evening was magical, with dining, dancing, and awards for sustainability going to Open Vault and Rincon. After such a full schedule, Sunday brought a well-earned break with a visit to the Victoria and Albert Museum and scenic walks through Kensington and Knightsbridge. Over the course of 13 days, Diane and Camilla logged 58 miles on foot, returning with fresh insights, stronger connections, and unforgettable memories!

Thursday, October 10, is World Mental Health Day. This week I’m sharing a five-part series with insights from Thimon De Jong, keynote speaker at IBC - International Broadcasting Convention 2024, on how leaders can prioritize mental health in the workplace. Key Takeaways from IBC 2024: Future of Media, Technology, and Leadership I recently traveled to Amsterdam for the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) held at the RAI Amsterdam center. Alongside Camilla Formica, our Chief Programs Officer, I spent several days immersed in thought-provoking discussions and sessions. The vast show floor (we averaged five miles of walking each day!) and insightful contributions from exceptional leaders across the industry provided a platform to explore the future of media, technology, and leadership. Some highlights included hearing from Syndeo Institute favorite Evan Shapiro, whose educational content always leaves a lasting impact. And the fireside chat with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Mstyslav Chernov, director of the Oscar-winning documentary 20 Days in Mariupol, was a particularly deep, personal perspective on conflict journalism. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of IBC’s core pillars. With a robust show program dedicated to the latest developments in AI and the revolutionary impact of AI on media and technology, I fully anticipated sharing highlights about this exciting field.
