What a collaboration! #sch #healthyhappenshere
On October 21st, 2024, the LeadSafe CNY Coalition launched National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week with the theme "Bright Futures Begin Lead-Free" at Syracuse Community Health. The event highlighted crucial initiatives to combat lead poisoning, emphasizing prevention and collaboration. Speakers, including Mayor Ben Walsh, Legislator Julie Abbott, Dr. Chima Chionuma, Dr. Kathryn Anderson, Frank Ridzi, Oceanna Fair, and Nancy Eaton, underscored the significant efforts to address lead poisoning. LaToya Jones, Director of LeadSafe CNY Coalition, emphasized the collective responsibility in preventing lead poisoning, stating that it's a shared effort, not just a priority. Special thanks to all contributors and attendees for their support, recognizing the coalition's committees and partners for their dedication. The collaborative work of our coalition members: government, healthcare, housing, education, philanthropy, and affected families is propelling positive change towards creating safer environments for our children and families. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to every coalition member and everyone who participated in the press conference. I am looking forward to a great week of impact!
