Happy #Juneteenth! On Wednesday, the Tricerat team took the day to reflect on and celebrate this powerful day in human history. June 19, 1865, over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, marked the Union's arrival in Texas with the long-awaited news of freedom. Known as "Freedom Day" or "America's Second Independence Day," this day signified liberation for the last of the 4 million enslaved people in the South. Juneteenth is a reminder to celebrate this victory and all others, honor the resilience of Black and marginalized communities, and recognize the ongoing collective fight for human rights. As we head into the weekend, join us in recommitting to justice, inclusivity, and unity in our daily lives, workplaces, and communities. Together, we can shape a future where justice and equality are realities, truly, for all.
