    Today, I celebrate a milestone—and although I’m very happy to be doing so, and so much to be thankful for, I can’t help but miss my parents who should still be here. My parents both went completely differently, my Dad fast and really unexpected and my Mom slowly. My Dads really affected me because it was so unexpected and it really changed my views on life. It gave me the courage to pursue a career I love and maybe just realize that every day you’re still here is a good day. I’m here to help adults improve their health and fitness today so that you are better at everything you love to do in life and that it’s hopefully a very long and happy life!     Fit at 50 and Feeling Fantastic! 🎉 Today, I celebrate a milestone—not just another year, but a journey of health, strength, and determination. Turning 50 feels like just the beginning, and I’m grateful for the ability to keep pushing my limits, both physically and mentally. Fitness isn't about age, it's about attitude! 💪 It’s never too late to start, to improve, or to set new goals. I’m proud of what I’ve achieved, but even more excited for what’s ahead. Here’s to many more years of lifting, running, stretching, and staying active. Here’s what I’ve learned and changed over the years: 1) There will never be a good time in life to prioritize your health, you have to MAKE TIME! If you watch any streaming services at all or are on social media, you have time. TAKE OWNERSHIP of your health! 😊 2) Your mind always gives up first. Any day that you are planning to work out and you think I’m tired I’m gonna rest today, that’s your mind giving up on you. Your body is capable of so much more than you think it is. 💪🏻 a. Try the 10 minute promise, promise yourself you’ll at least try and workout for 10 minutes before “resting”, I bet if you start you’ll finish the workout and feel much better afterwards! 3) The phrase no pain no gain is not totally true. You can push through muscle fatigue and that’s where change and growth occurs, if you work through true pain you will probably end up injured (there is a big difference)! 4) Movement screens are so so IMPORTANT - if you’re not assessing, you’re just guessing. You NEED to have good control over your body through movement and range of motion! 5) You you are going to have to put time into working on your mobility and small muscles that matter in your body, Otherwise you’re going to feel like shit. 6) On top of mobility, you need to strength train, skeletal muscle is the tissue of longevity and you need to have some zone 2 cardio in your life for heart health. 7) Time demands: Because I’ll be above takes time, you’re going to want to be as efficient as possible. I suggest full body workouts alternating upper and lower muscle groups and keeping your heart rate up. And she’ll need a day off in between full body workouts, train your mobility and or get some cardio in! 8) Protein is a very important macronutrient For skeletal muscle, I get 200 g of protein a day. You should try to get .7 to 1 g of protein per pound of bodyweight. If you're thinking about starting your fitness journey—don't wait! The best time is now. Let’s keep growing stronger, together.     Tight adductors can be a pain, literally! They can be linked to knee pain, hip pain, groin pain, and back pain.     What is a movement screen and why is it so vitally important? Low scores on a movement screen mean that you have a greater chance of getting injured. Knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, etc.. All can be movement related. Movement compensations overtime lead to incidents which then can lead to injury. So if you want to stay feeling good and moving well, have a movement screen done today!     When was the last time you checked your resting heart rate? Because today might be the day for a test (if you have a condition that increases your heart rate, this doesn’t apply to you)! Researchers found that those with a heart rate above 70 beats per minute increase their risk of heart disease by 78 percent. So if that’s you, what can you do? Strength train with intervals to keep your heart rate up (skeletal muscle is the key to longevity) and just get some regular cardio training in as well: go outside for a walk (up a hill or use a rucksack), run, bike, go for a swim, etc.… TA4 Fitness - Your lifeline for lifetime fitness!     If you work a desk job or are on your phone a lot, you probably need this stretch & exercise (most people in general do)! Give it a shot, only takes a few seconds to try out. If you are tight and/or weak then doing this can help prevent potential future injuries (never work through pain though)! TA4 Fitness - Your lifeline for lifetime fitness! TA4 Fitness is different!
