Updates

  • #YearInReview: 2024 has been a year of innovation, impact, and growth for TAAF. We’ve been on the ground floor of supporting new initiatives, launched first-of-their kind studies, and invested in organizations and people making meaningful change. We’ve also taken time to listen and learn from deep conversations with community leaders, grantees, partners, and others to better serve our community. And we remain steadfast in our mission to advocate for the safety, belonging and prosperity for all AANHPIs not just this year, but every year. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to working together to ensure a brighter future for the AANHPI community. Our shared work is just beginning.

  • American U.S. Navy officer and physician Jonny Kim is set to make history as the first Korean American NASA astronaut to travel to the International Space Station (ISS) on April 8, alongside Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky. While on the ISS, Kim will be conducting scientific investigations and technology demonstrations to help prepare the crew for future space missions and provide benefits to people on Earth. “I’m incredibly honored to represent NASA in our continued commitment to international collaboration and scientific discovery,” Kim shared. A huge congratulations to Jonny Kim for this incredible achievement!

  • Representation matters—on the court, in leadership, and across the game. TAAF was honored to co-host the inaugural AAPI All-Star Reception with Joe Tsai, Clara Wu Tsai, Vivek Ranadivé, Jerry Yang, and Mark A. Tatum. We honored the visionaries and trailblazers shaping the future of basketball and sports, showing how AANHPI leadership is breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation.

  • “You must know one another, and you must see each other, and you must see yourselves in each other. Because whether it's today, tomorrow, or ten years from now, you're going to need each other,” said Shamina Singh, TAAF Board Member and Founder & President of Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth. A couple weeks ago, TAAF in partnership with KKR brought together industry leaders for our third annual AAPI Employee Resource Group (ERG) Reception. The evening focused on advancing AAPIs in corporate America, and brought together a dynamic group of professionals—ERG leaders, corporate executives, and diversity advocates—who are committed to ensuring AAPIs are represented at all levels. Creating spaces for dialogue and connection is essential to elevating AAPI leadership in the workplace—but oftentimes it can't happen without support. Through the TAAF ERG Network (TEN), TAAF and our partners are focused on ensuring ERGs have the resources to drive real change. And although vital in fostering belonging, shaping inclusive policies, and unlocking leadership pathways, ERGs often struggle for resources and recognition. Now more than ever, we must invest ERGs—because doing so means investing in a more diverse and equitable corporate America, where AAPIs not only not only succeed, but shape what’s next for generations to come.
