We Serve Those Who Serve

About us

Since its inception, Tactical Air Support (Tactical Air) has utilized innovative business practices to provide our government and industry customers the best value product. Instead of offering a single solution to meet a wide variety of training requirements, we believe it is more cost effective to match the appropriate support capability to the training requirement and pay only for what is needed. In addition to being an F-5AT (Advanced Tiger) Adversary commercial air provider, our talented and experienced cadre of aviators are also trained as expert consultants in a wide range of tactical, technical, and systems support areas. Our team of professionals is a “Ready Bench” of experts ready to provide long term or surge support for any consulting need. Our pilots average over 3,000 individual hours of tactical fighter time, are former Weapons School Instructors or Test Pilots, and have extensive civilian experience as well. There is no group more capable than the team assembled by Tactical Air! Put simply, we have built a business around providing our civilian and military customers world-class support at an affordable price while saving them precious material resources.

Big day for Tactical Air Support in Florida. "Today we flew our first contract sorties in support of the 33rd Fighter Wing at Eglin AFB.  It is an honor and privilege to contribute to the F-35 training of the next generation of fighter pilots for the US Air Force" commented Geoff "Kid" Jensen, Director of Air Force Programs for Tactical Air Support.

Tactical Air Support is very proud and excited to announce a recent contract award for two operating locations from the U.S. Air Force to enhance fighter pilot training. We will be flying complex Red Air missions using our F-5 Advanced Tiger (F-5 AT) aircraft to challenge the cutting-edge capabilities of the USAF’s fifth-generation F-35s. These missions will be based at Hill AFB in Ogden, UT and Eglin AFB in Valparaiso, FL.   RC Thompson, CEO of Tactical Air Support, shared his enthusiasm: “We greatly appreciate Tactical Air’s selection as the adversary company to provide services for our Air Force’s 5th generation combat forces at Hill and Eglin. This award validates our concept of significantly investing in the integration of advanced, threat representative systems into a safe, reliable and cost-effective platform.”    Operations are set to begin in October 2024 with a contract for one year, and four option years, at both bases. Tactical Air is proud to play a key role in training the world’s best fighter pilots.   Check Six!

Communication between large groups, such as the fleet, the test community, and NAVAIR, can be really challenging. However, TACAIR has found a way to keep everyone regularly informed. Since September 2020, TACAIR has collaborated with the VX community to publish and distribute over 45 monthly SCS Bulletins. These products help educate F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircrew on upcoming aircraft software (SCS) changes, highlight reported issues, share troubleshooting methods and associated workarounds, and provide general “Did you know?” information. We’d like to give a big shoutout to Amy “BACON!” Heflin for her behind-the-scenes work in gathering information, editing, vetting, and publishing the SCS Bulletin. To the aircrew who read these products, we genuinely hope that you find them helpful and informative. We’d love to hear your feedback! If you are interested in joining the team that develops meaningful products and compelling training for fleet aircrew, we invite you to visit tacticalairsupport.com to learn more about our work and what we do!
