The interns at our Hartford office recently had the opportunity to attend a volunteering event and network with senior leaders. Talcott’s leadership took this opportunity to share advice and career experiences with them as they assembled dignity kits, provided by CTW Events, that were later distributed to the Chrysalis Center, Inc. in Hartford, CT. Talcott would like to commemorate two Bermuda holidays - Emancipation Day and Mary Prince Day. This year, these holidays fall on Aug. 1 and 2, respectively. These holidays also mark the first and second day of Bermuda’s Cup Match, an annual island-wide celebration that centers around a cricket match between Somerset Cricket Club and St. George's Cricket Club. Cup Match is one of the most energized and exciting Bermuda events and brings everyone together in celebration of Emancipation. Today, we announced a flow reinsurance transaction between our subsidiary, Talcott Life Re, Ltd., and The Dai-ichi Frontier Life Insurance Co., Ltd. on their innovative new annuity product. This is the third flow reinsurance transaction and the seventh business transaction overall for Talcott since its acquisition by Sixth Street, a leading global investment firm, in June 2021. As Talcott extends our footprint internationally, Yasuhisa will be responsible for cultivating relationships with insurers in the Asia-Pacific region. Yasuhisa is a seasoned executive with more than 30 years of experience leading insurance and reinsurance businesses in the financial services industry in Japan. Prior to joining Talcott, Yasuhisa spent 20 years at RGA Japan and RGA Asia, including his role as the Co-CEO and Chief Financial Officer of RGA Reinsurance Company’s Japan branch. With Yasuhisa on board, Talcott is looking forward to expanding in the Asia-Pacific market as a trusted partner providing comprehensive risk solutions for local insurance companies. Employees recently spent a fun sunshine-filled day building, painting, and decorating two playhouses – a Bluey-themed house and a Marvel-themed house – for two young children in Connecticut. It was such a pleasure, not only to build the playhouses, but also to outfit each of them with unique mementos like twinkle lights, chairs, curtains, crafts, and action figures. It was incredibly rewarding to see the children’s faces when they realized they could take the playhouses home with them. Talcott was thrilled to again partner with Habitat for Humanity North Central Connecticut and is looking forward to future opportunities to give back to our community.  #community #philanthropy #talcottcares #helpinghands
