Exciting news for Cumberland County, NC! T. A. Loving and Metcon, Inc. have officially broken ground on the Crown Event Center in Fayetteville. The 134,000 SF multipurpose event center is set to open in Spring 2027. The center will seat 3,000 guests and feature a rooftop terrace, flexible event spaces, and a range of amenities to support local performances, as well as community and regional events. Collaborating with MBP (McDonough Bolyard Peck), current Crown Complex manager Oak View Group, and EwingCole Architects, this project will significantly enhance Fayetteville’s downtown. At the groundbreaking, Commissioner Jimmy Keefe spoke about the center’s potential as an economic driver and a new landmark for the region. Work is finishing up at Hilltop Needmore Road Elementary in Fuquay Varina. This new 132,495 SF school for Wake County Public School System will accommodate 56 teaching spaces and serve pre-K through fifth grade with a core capacity of 800 students. Situated on a 29-acre lot, the classroom wings are aligned along an east-west axis, with play fields to the south and learning courtyards adjacent to the classrooms. In collaboration with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting and JE Dunn Construction, we have worked together to bring this vision to life. The nCino Sports Park officially opened at the beginning of the month, transforming a former landfill into a premier facility with 11 athletic fields, including one with synthetic turf and five equipped for night play. The park also boasts a 2,600 SF restroom and concessions building, offering top-tier amenities for players and spectators. Managed by the Wilmington Hammerheads Youth Soccer Club, the park will be a hub for community activities and youth programs. Last Thursday, T.A. Loving Company proudly hosted the ‘Load the Loader’ food drive in Smithfield, NC. Using tilt-up construction with 40-foot, 40,000-pound pre-cast concrete panels, we've built a strong, resilient facility that will also serve as an emergency shelter. In collaboration with the City of New Bern, NC Government and CPL, we're proud to rebuild this vital center as it returns stronger than ever after Hurricane Florence.
