Calling out all nonprofit leaders in my network! Helping nonprofits get the support they need is at the core of everything we do at Taproot Foundation. It’s critical that our programming is responsive to the real-world needs of organizations. To help fuel resource development and responsive program design, Taproot just launched our 2024 Nonprofit Resiliency Survey to dig into resource needs and how skills-based volunteering may be able to close the nonprofit capacity gap. If you’re a nonprofit leader, answer the survey here: https://lnkd.in/etKMxhF5. Survey will be open for a few more days! I'd love it if you could take a moment to shape our understanding of and service to the nonprofit sector! If you’re in another field, please share it with your network! Survey respondents will be entered to win one of five Global Giving gift cards so that you’re able to double down on your investment to social good.

A huge congrats to our Taproot Plus team and the thousands of nonprofits and skilled volunteers who have made 25,000 Projects possible over the past 10 years. Here's to next 25,000! 🎉
This past weekend, our team at Taproot Foundation hit an exciting milestone: our 25,000th Taproot Plus Project request was submitted by a nonprofit community member. Taproot Plus launched 10 years ago with the bold idea of expanding inclusive resource access for nonprofits—regardless of their budget size, where they're located across the US, how many years they've been in operations, or which funders their leaders are friendly with. It's fair to say that audacious idea has panned out successfully, with our 25,000th project listing from a nonprofit being just one small indicator of the impact Taproot Plus has made, enabling social good organizations to connect with the resources they need, for free, and on their schedule. Being trusted as a resource for 25,000+ nonprofit capacity-building needs is no small feat and is a credit to the tireless, creative, and empathetic work of countless current and former Roots like Joshua A Groll, Meredith Lorch, Megan Gillett, Jeff Brady, Kristin Teti, Bethany Sapp, Nuna Cosey, Andrews Peprah, Grace Litzau, Joshua A., Rotimi Ifedayo Nelson, Chris Winn, and Karen Bertodatti, MPH, PMP (to name just a few!!). Lucky project number 25,000 was submitted by Healwise, a wonderful nonprofit dedicated to connecting people of color and low-income communities to mental health resources. They've been a Taproot community member for the past few years, successfully connecting with skills-based volunteers to fuel their growing organization. Their latest pro bono request: technical support as they complete the transition to a new website. You can #volunteer your skills in support of this great cause by visiting: https://bit.ly/48baCUs I'm so proud of our scrappy and passionate nonprofit. And I'm excited for all the milestones the Taproot Foundation community will reach together over the next 10 years! Here's to hoping you'll come along for the ride with us—securing skills-based volunteer resources for your nonprofit, donating your professional talents to great causes, or bringing pro bono programming to your company or foundation. #SkillsBasedVolunteering #NonprofitCapacityBuilding #ProBono

Any designers out there looking for a meaningful pro bono project? I'm working with Bay-Area non-profit Healthy Cities Tutoring to create a new name/logo and a refreshed brand identity. We need a talented designer on board to transform the organization's brand and position them for the next decades of serving their community. This is a remote-only project through the Taproot Foundation. The Healthy Cities team is dedicated and eager to start, and I run efficient projects (and have fun along the way). My go-to folks don't have bandwidth right now, but I'd love to work together with a designer from my past or someone new who's looking to expand their network (and potentially work together on paying projects in the future). Are you this person, or know someone who is? Send me a note via LinkedIn or at craig.derbenwick@gmail.com. Many thanks!

Happy #IndigenousPeoplesDay! Today we honor the vibrant cultures, knowledge, and resilience of Native communities around the world. Taproot staff work remotely from across the United States, living in the traditional homelands of many indigenous Nations, including the Lenape/Lenapehoking (New York City), the Anishinaabe, or the Council of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations (Chicago), Ramaytush Ohlone (San Francisco), and Tongva, Tataviam, Serrano, Kizh, and Chumash Peoples (Los Angeles), among many others. We are grateful for the opportunity to live and work on these ancestral lands and acknowledge the vital contribution our indigenous neighbors continue to play in shaping our communities. To explore a searchable map of indigenous territories, languages, and treaties in the Americas, Australia, and other parts of the world, check out the interactive site from nonprofit Native Land Digital at native-land.ca/

Today is National Coming Out Day, an annual celebration in support of 2SLGBTQIA+ (Two Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, and others not explicitly named) individuals "coming out of the closet." If you're a #cybersecurity expert looking to use your skills to impact the lives of vulnerable queer youth, the nonprofit Give Us The Floor recently posted a great opportunity. Give Us The Floor runs a supportive online chat community that reduces shame and isolation and builds hope for 2SLGBTQIA+ youth. They are in need of comprehensive cybersecurity evaluation and help implementing solutions.
