TAT Deputy Director Kylla Lanier presented at the AAMVA (American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators) Region 2 conference in New Orleans to an audience of 80 state driver licensing agency officials, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) employees and law enforcement from the Southern region of the U.S. Attendees learned how they can combat human trafficking through their jobs both by identifying possible victims and also through raising awareness with drivers seeking their CDLs as well as the general motoring public. We are grateful for the partnership between TAT and AAMVA!

About us
TAT, a 501c3 organization, is dedicated to raising up a defensive force of transportation professionals across North America to assist law enforcement in the recognition and reporting of human trafficking, in order to aid in the recovery of victims and the arrest of perpetrators. Recognizing that certain industries are uniquely positioned to recognize and report human trafficking, TAT partners with the trucking, truck stop, bus and energy industries to engage their workforces in this fight. TAT also partners with government agencies and law enforcement throughout the U.S. and Canada and builds public-private partnerships between the transportation and energy industries and law enforcement to combat this crime. TAT stands committed to educate, equip, empower and mobilize members of key industries and agencies to combat human trafficking. We educate our partners with industry/agency-specific top-tier training tools to recognize and report this crime and to use a victim-centered approach when engaging with potential victims of trafficking. We equip our partners with training, language, action plans and policies to make a positive impact on this crime. We come alongside our partners and empower them to activate those within their sphere of influence to get involved. We mobilize the largest army of transportation/industry professionals and public sector partners to lend their expertise and their voices to this movement.

TAT reposted this
World Day of Trafficking in Persons is July 30. Would you consider writing me a comment or message a note of encouragement so I can give it to the 50 survivors I see weekly? In reality, many do not get encouragement or support. Most of them, their families were the perpetrators. It is a lonely walk. I’d like to brighten their day. Also welcomed are virtual gift cards I can give out if you would like.

TAT attended the Big Rig Expo and Job Fair in Calgary, Alberta on June 22, hosted by The Trucking Network and sponsored by AMTA Alberta Motor Transport Association. This was TAT’s first time attending this event and the first industry-focused event in the province this year. TAT connected with a handful of current training partners and made many new connections. Heather Fry, director of Industry Training, delivered a TAT presentation on the outdoor stage, encouraged attendees to download the TAT app and shared that TAT now has materials translated into Punjabi. The rich Indian heritage represented at the show was showcased on stage with live music and delicious Indian food. Thank you to The Trucking Network for the invitation to attend this up-and-coming event. #BigRigExpo #CalgaryEvents #Truckers #TAT #EndHumanTrafficking
