What a day it’s been at the Transatlantic Business and Investment Conference in Atlanta! 🇺🇸🇪🇺 We’ve had the privilege of diving deep into critical topics that will shape the future of transatlantic #business and #investment. Here are some of the highlights from this afternoon: 🏗️ Best Practices & FDI Projects within the TBIC Community We were honored to hear from Jan Vüllers, John Sweatman, and James Blair as they presented the success story of the site selection process with Miele USA. Their session highlighted the collaborative efforts that led to Miele’s decision to build their first U.S. production plant in #Opelika, Alabama—an inspiring example of effective #FDI strategy in action from the #TBIC network. 🔑 Unlocking the Secrets to Attracting International Companies Our panel on "Exposure & Presentation: How to Attract International Companies" provided invaluable insights into marketing regional assets and leveraging the latest in site selection technologies. Thanks to our expert panelists—Ron Bertasi, Richard Culberson, Philip Marschall, Ann Rybka, and Carter Hendricks—who shared their strategies for positioning regions for global success. 🌟 A huge thank you to all our speakers, sponsors, and participants who made #TBIC2024 a success. It’s been a wonderful morning here at #TBIC2024 with our panelists speaking on topics ranging from #globalaffairs to local #infrastructure. Here are some of the key takeaways: 🔍 Global Perspectives on FDI and Transatlantic Relations Our opening panel, "Perspectives and Trends in Foreign Direct Investment, Transatlantic Relations, and the Global Economy," provided a thorough analysis of the macro-economic and geopolitical trends influencing business activities across the Atlantic. A huge thank you to our expert panelists—Eike Klapper, Philipp Clarke, Jeffrey Reed, Tess Fay, MBA and Jon Willis—for sharing their insights on international initiatives and strategies impacting the global economy. 🏗️ Challenges and Assets of FDI-Ready Infrastructure Our infrastructure panel, "Key Challenges and Assets of FDI-Ready Infrastructure," highlighted the importance of both physical and human infrastructure in attracting foreign investment. Special thanks to Bill Adams, Bruce Bharat, Jennifer Bostian and Manann Donoghoe for their valuable contributions. Their discussions on strategic site planning, industrial development, and equitable infrastructure development offered powerful insights into what makes regions truly investment-ready. We’re excited to continue these discussions continue this afternoon!

We had a fantastic opening to #TBIC2024 with opening remarks from the French Consul General, Anne-Laure Desjonquères, followed by an insightful keynote presentation from Jon Willis, Vice President and Senior Economist from the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. We’re looking forward to a great day with fantastic panelists speaking about how to leverage #FDI for our member communities and valued guests!
