Meet The Challenge Initiative (TCI) 🎉 TCI revolutionizes family planning by addressing the rapid urbanization in Africa and Asia. Engaging over 200 city governments across 13 countries, TCI provides vital support to implement high-impact family planning practices. Spearheaded by Johns Hopkins University’s William H. Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health, with backing from Bayer AG and the Gates Foundation, TCI operates through regional hubs in East Africa, Francophone West Africa, India, Nigeria, Pakistan, and the Philippines. What sets TCI apart is its commitment to empowering local governments by investing their own resources and political will. Through the Challenge Fund and comprehensive coaching, TCI supports quality implementation and leadership skills, driving impactful change. 🇳🇬 📈 New research led by CCP shows that a co-financing model used in #Nigeria to fund #familyplanning expenses is not only sustainable—it could also serve as a blueprint for other regions. Through The Challenge Initiative, led in Nigeria by CCP and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, this model has successfully encouraged 22 states to allocate significant funds for family planning.
