What a ✨ bright ✨ night with the amazing connectors at The Miami Foundation! As someone new to the leadership scene in Miami, I couldn’t have asked for a more welcoming and inspiring night. It was great reconnecting with old friends and making new connections. The highlight of the evening was meeting so many alumni from the Miami Fellows program. As an aspiring Miami Fellow, it solidified my desire to join such an amazing network of leaders. With the new school year upon us, we want to take a moment to reflect on the amazing summer we had at TAP. We welcomed over 150 teacher candidates to our six-week summer training with the hopes of creating 150 new teachers for our students of Miami. I would say, mission accomplished! 🎓 Teaching is not just a profession; it's a calling. At TAP, we believe that a great teacher has the power to change lives, inspire dreams, and shape the future. Our focus on developing Strong Starters - novice educators with the fundamentals needed to begin classroom teaching and sustain it as they grow - lays the foundation for being a truly impactful teacher. Welcome, TAP Class of 2024! In its official TAP Pinning Ceremony, TAP participants were ceremoniously "pinned" marking the completion of the course, a six-week internship and over 120 hours of professional development/training — symbolizing the transition from being a teacher candidate to a teacher of record. Our class came together with leaders in our community, to be celebrated for all their achievements this past year, and were sent off with inspiration and motivation as they embark on their journey in education. We are so proud of our class & all they will accomplish in the classroom this Fall. #happybacktoschool

When challenges arrive, we our encourage our candidates to always lean into their "Why", as it helps ground them in their original purpose and gives them the strength to persevere. It serves as a guiding light, reminding them of the passion and commitment that initially inspired their journey into teaching. By reconnecting with their "Why", candidates can navigate through obstacles with resilience and clarity, staying true to their mission of making a positive impact in education. From sourdough and candle making to yoga and team lunches - TAP Summer has engaged our cohort both professionally and personally. As #educators, time to decompress, connect (and have fun!) is an important part in being our best selves. Every Friday, candidates pause from teaching, lesson planning, and professional development to have FUN! FriYAY is TAP’s way of encouraging work/life balance for candidates, as well as bonding as a program. TAP invites vendors from various different backgrounds to give workshops at TAP.
