What. A. Summer!! I am very thankful to have had this wonderful crew (missing a lot of people from this picture by the way) by my side for the last month and a half, accomplishing an extremely large and complicated move, in a very short amount of time. We had little to no time to thoroughly plan out this job, but somehow managed to accomplish moving and shuffling of basically five different sites, and beat our deadline. (And avoided weekend work! yay!!) Next week we help teachers settle into their new classrooms, and assist with getting all these school sites ready for kids to be in classrooms on the first day of school. There was so much hard work and effort from everyone involved, and I'm very grateful to have had the support from my VPCS | Van Pelt Berkeley team, especially to my guys who have been with me through the busy time, this week and last... Cesar Cabezas Carl Yeremian and Kevin Wagner! And to the rest of my team, who have been so patient and understanding of the limited time I have had to be able to support in other operations. Many of you supported me at sites that had packing tasks, and Charles Harbour II staying on top of our construction crew at a site, allowing us to get into the needed spaces in the timely manner to support operations of the school coming in. To our friends at Managed Facility Solutions, I want to give a special shout out to Rose Walker, who was an amazing project manager from your team, And an absolute pleasure to partner with. I'm confident in saying I would not have been able to accomplish this without her by my side. She was a huge support and a great team leader. Everyone on this crew was absolutely fantastic and I greatly appreciate them all. Having 40 movers running around a bunch of different sides is not an easy thing to manage, but we got it done. Cheers to this hard working group of people! and can't wait to get these last few days done and accomplished and see everyone ready for the first day of school!

With a ribbon cutting ceremony, Acutronic’s CEO Florian Aigrain shared their commitment to Texas and the progress of their incredible apprenticeship program to grow talent from within. The first jet engine manufacturing facility in Texas will be opening soon at their Bastrop property—a major milestone for aerospace manufacturing in our state! A big thank you to Opportunity Austin’s Edward Latson for co-hosting, and to Adriana Cruz (Texas’ economic development lead) for kicking things off with a proclamation. Acutronic Announces Major Expansion & New Investment Across the Austin, Texas Region at SelectUSA Summit Key Highlights: Aerospace Component Division’s New Global Headquarters: Acutronic’s newly renovated facility on Ed Bluestein Blvd. in Austin will serve as the global headquarters for the Aerospace Components Division. The new location will house engineering teams, corporate staff, assembly space, and turbine test cells. Development will take place on Acutronic’s actuator, turbine, and power systems product lines. First Jet Engine Manufacturing Facility in Texas: Acutronic has acquired 13.84 acres of land in the City of Bastrop Tx and has committed to creating at least 50 jobs and investing upwards of $4 million in constructing a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Acutronic Apprenticeship Alliance: In collaboration with the Bastrop ISD’s Manufacturing P-Tech program, Acutronic is launching the Acutronic Apprenticeship Alliance. This program will allow apprentices to apply technical and soft skills, earn a competitive wage before graduating high school, and have the opportunity to become full-time electromechanical technicians.
