The riders are only the tip of the spear. The team is made up of many figures, each of them fundamental for a good performance and image. The masseurs, in particular, are a key element in the running of so many activities on a normal race day. In this short video you can see the professionalism, the commitment and the passion that each of us puts every day into the great project called Team Polti Group | VisitMalta Incentives & Meetings #bornfrompassion #teampoltivisitmalta 🎥 Maurizio Borserini
About us
Team Polti VisitMalta is a cycling structure with ProTeam, U-23 and junior teams that is part of the Contador Foundation. A project with more than 10 years of history, promoted by the cyclists Alberto Contador and Ivan Basso together with Fran Contador. Some of the greatest cyclists of today have grown on its ranks, in a structure that has not lost its origins with the steep forward in 2021 into the ProTeam category thanks to the impulse of Eolo and Kometa. Two victories in the Giro d’Italia, a great image as a team and constant growth have allowed the Polti company to join the project in 2024, which aspires to continue to evolve in the world of cycling. Always with its sights set on development, on a human level, and on training formation, on a sporting level, and with the ambition of continuing to grow on the road to the highest category, the WorldTour, Team Polti Kometa has already competed in three editions of the Giro d’Italia and has won two stage victories in the race thanks to Lorenzo Fortunato and Davide Bais. The climber Fortunato won on Zoncolan in 2021, in a feat that will always be remembered; while Bais won on Campo Imperatore by showing his strength in the final part of the climb. Guided by Fran Contador, Alberto Contador and Iván Basso, and with the aim of giving back to cycling a part of what cycling has given them, the team has earned on and off the road the respect of opponents, the admiration of fans and the interest of new cyclists and new sponsors, who want to join a project that is both sporting and human. Through the social projects of the Alberto Contador Foundation, such as Bicis para la Vida by ŠKODA or Idemticos; as well as promoting the youth and under-23 training teams, and the Plaza Éboli cycling schools in Pinto (Madrid), the dimension of Polti Kometa grows every day with great professionals, important objectives and the enthusiasm of a project that loves cycling.

🇮🇹 Milano/Torino: The most antique classic of the calendar. A joy for the view. Another page in our history. Polti Group | VisitMalta Incentives & Meetings #bornfrompassion #teampoltivisitmalta

After breaking the ice at Trofeo Laigueglia and Strade Bianche, and experiencing the intensity and emotions of the Tirreno-Adriatico, Team Polti VisitMalta continues its Italian calendar by taking on the world’s oldest classic: Milano-Torino. This year’s route features a long, flat transfer from western Lombardy to the regional capital of Piedmont, leading up to the decisive double ascent to the Basilica of Superga in the final 25 kilometers. "The overall balance of this Tirreno-Adriatico is quite positive because, even without an outstanding result, we were able to fight on all terrains" Polti VisitMalta’s "race of the two seas" is best summed up in the words of sports director Stefano Zanatta: the team defended itself well… and attacked both the undulating terrain and the changing weather as the race crossed Italy from west to east. The opening KOM jersey worn by Davide Bais in southern Tuscany set the stage for Andrea Pietrobon’s breakaway in the pouring rain of Umbria and, above all, for the emotionally and athletically intense day on Thursday. The main protagonist was Mirco Maestri, who launched the breakaway in the Abruzzo Apennines and was caught just 400 meters from the line. Even then, he refused to give up and led the sprint on the slight uphill finish securing 5th place, while just a few meters behind Giovanni Lonardi took 9th. This double top-10 finish further cemented the heroic stature of the Captain and fueled Lonardi’s legs and confidence, leading to his 6th place in today’s final sprint in San Benedetto del Tronto. Between these highlights, however, the steep climbs and mountains of the Marche region: on Friday Fran Muñoz, a dedicated teammate of Davide Piganzoli, made an appearance in the breakaway, while in yesterday’s "queen stage" Piganzoli held onto the wheels of the best GC contenders, securing an honorable 17th overall place. Adding to this, the tireless work of Alessandro Tonelli must be highlighted as he consistently provided support and protection to every teammate. In a World Tour event where Ayuso claimed the victory and Milan won the "ciclamino jersey" this Italian squad showcased its values with great pride and determination. #bornfronpassion #teampoltivisitmalta

Team Polti VisitMalta reposted this
Cycling is strategy, but also tactics. There are breaks you plan and others that arise through intelligent improvisation, well supported by strong legs and team spirit. For Bais, this is the fourth consecutive year wearing the green jersey at the Tirreno-Adriatico. #bornfrompassion #teampoltivisitmalta
