Today, like most October days, we are deeply immersed in strategic planning with our clients. However, this year feels different. Hurricane Helene’s devastation has left Asheville, NC rebuilding in ways we never expected. Amidst the physical destruction, we’ve been privileged to witness extraordinary stories of resilience, compassion, and hope from across our community. One such story is that of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue (BWAR). Despite losing all of their physical assets to the storm, the BWAR team didn’t falter. Instead, they are on the ground providing free veterinary care to rural, hard-hit areas that desperately need support. In collaboration with Best Friends Animal Society, Providence Animal Center, Fido Fixers, and volunteer veterinarians, BWAR is making a real, immediate difference for animals and their owners who have nowhere else to turn. This powerful story exemplifies what happens when an organization not only defines its mission, vision, and values but actively lives them every single day. It shows us the extraordinary impact of commitment, strategic clarity, and empowered teams working toward a shared purpose. At TEAMES & CO, we believe that crafting a clear strategy is the first step to success. Central to that process are three key elements: - Your Vision: Where you want to go. - Your Mission: What you want to solve. - Your Values: How you will achieve it. But there’s a crucial difference between defining these elements and truly living them. Your vision, mission, and values can easily become mere words on a wall if they are not woven into the fabric of your organization’s daily actions and decisions. BWAR’s story reminds us that resilience and success in the face of great challenges come from more than just having a strategic plan. It comes from embodying your values every day, reinforcing them in every decision, and empowering your team to do the same. This is how you create a foundation strong enough to defy the odds and overcome any challenge that comes your way. As Asheville rebuilds, we are inspired by these stories of strength and purpose, and we remain committed to helping our clients create organizations that thrive—not just through strategic planning but by empowering their teams to live their mission, vision, and values each day. Below is a video featuring Leah Craig Chumbley (Fieser), Executive Director of Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. We hope you consider making a donation to help BWAR rebuild even stronger to serve even more animals! Your generosity is appreciated. https://lnkd.in/g6MgaU5k

At AvL Technologies we design, manufacture and support #SATCOM antennas that often are used for emergency communications. But we never expected to experience a catastrophe like Hurrican Helene in our own hometown of Asheville, NC. The devastation is immense with homes, businesses, roads and bridges swept away, and so many lives lost. As the communities of Western North Carolina begin to recover, we have much to be grateful for. We're grateful that all AvL employees are safe, even though some have been severely impacted. We're grateful for the resilience of our colleagues, neighbors and friends who are helping each other in every way possible. We're grateful for the outpouring of support from our vendors, industry partners and customers - your support during the past two weeks has been invaluable. We're grateful that AvL facilities were not damaged and we've been able to resume the work of making SATCOM antennas that enable critical communications. At AvL we're proud of what we do. We know our antennas are used around the world and enable communications when and where it's needed most. But we never expected to see AvL antennas used to help our own communities recover from a catastrophe, much less a hurricane. Many thanks to our colleagues and customers for sharing photos and for allowing Team AvL to help make sure the comms were optimized and robust. Please continue to keep the people of Asheville and Western North Carolina - and the people of Florida - in your thoughts and prayers. We have a long road to recovery before us, but will stay strong to rebuild together.

Mountain BizWorks , with the support of the The Golden LEAF Foundation, is offering rapid recovery loans! Rebuilding businesses will be a vital step for our recovery in WNC.
Mountain BizWorks is now offering rapid recovery bridge loans to Helene-affected businesses through the WNC Strong: Helene Business Recovery Fund. We are grateful for The Golden LEAF Foundation and their commitment of $7.5 million to help establish the fund. We hope to announce additional capacity soon (and reach out to me if you want to discuss this). Small businesses are the backbone of western NC's economy, they help create the richness of our communities, and so much more. Many have been devastated and we know a range of resources will be required. We hope this fund will help address immediate needs as longer term recovery resources become available. Anything you can do to share this resource with impacted small business owners is greatly appreciated. Together, we are WNC Strong.

For those of you who follow us know that our team has a special spot in our hearts for Brother Wolf Animal Rescue. After all, they did introduce our founder, to her beloved pup, Weezie! They also embody what we most talk about at TEAMES &CO - defining a clear mission, setting an ambitious strategy and building exceptional teams that are empowered to achieve success. And so many times they have graciously shared their stories with us on podcasts, panels and more! But most importantly, on a personal note we are grateful to them because their team holds and cares for animals on their hardest, scariest days and gives them a safe space to land. So as we all face these hard and scary days our hope is that you help us rally around them and help them rebuild a safe place to land and continue their vital work!
We are devastated and grateful to be alive. Our animals are safe. We will rebuild to continue to serve as a lifeline for the thousands of animals who depend on us each year, but we can't do it without help. Read our story, share it, and contribute if you can, thank you: https://lnkd.in/ev_Sx6HW

Good morning to all who see this. DJs Pickles has been amazed with the amount of support in Durham, Charlotte, and Wilmington. Our general plan is to leverage resources throughout NC to ship orders across the United States, utilize commissary/storage and sales channels throughout the state until we are able to get water back to our kitchen. Thank you to all who have ordered, who are considering gift certificates, and to those who are spreading the word and making connections for us. More to come! www.djspickles.com
