🔑 Common Sources of Failure in Managing Up 🔑 Managing your manager can be tough, but understanding where things go wrong is the first step to improving communication and collaboration. Let’s talk about representation for a sec.... Up until this year, SF Tech Week had no representation for the legal industry. And for women? The opportunities were slim. But yesterday, that changed—and it was powerful. I attended "Empowering Women in Legal Tech" hosted by Legal Operators and the energy in the room was palpable. For the first time, women in our industry created a space to be seen and heard where seemingly none existed before. A few takeaways I found powerful: 🚦Boundaries are Non-Negotiable – How often do we stretch ourselves too thin, saying “yes” to everything? Here I was reminded that boundaries are a form of self-respect. Knowing when to say “no” is crucial for protecting our energy and mental health. 📋 Project Management is Power – It’s more than keeping things on track; it’s about owning your time, your work, and your future. Every project is an opportunity to write your own story. 👏 Your Brand Speaks for You – If you’re not intentionally crafting your personal brand, someone else is doing it for you. We owe it to ourselves to reflect on who we are, what we stand for, and how we show up—every single day. Then it's up to us to convey that to others. 🤔 Self-Reflection is a Superpower – Growth isn’t just about hustling. It’s about pausing. Reflecting. Realigning with our purpose. The most profound changes come from within. 🏋♂️ Lift As You Climb – Representation doesn’t stop with us. As we break barriers, we have a responsibility to bring others up with us. Thank you Sarah Starr and Lydia Flocchini for sharing your incredible insights and to Robin Zavacky Ponce for asking the questions we were all thinking. You reminded us all that we belong here (in Tech/in Legal/Together). #legaltech #legaloperations #womenintech
