A service-design consultancy improving government performance using customer experience as the primary driver of change

About us

We are a service-design consultancy that works shoulder-to-shoulder with our U.S. Government clients to improve government performance using customer experience (CX) as the primary driver of change. At Technical Assent, we envision a world where the U.S. Government sets the standards of service excellence; where everyone experiencing those services feels heard and respected; where people believe in the integrity and efficacy of government services; and where individuals are placed at the center of services as they’re being designed. In other words, we believe in Services That Inspire. Our company has been at the forefront of service design in government for more than a decade. We are a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) and are appraised at Capability Maturity Model Integration for Services (CMMI SVC) Level 3. Technical Assent has won a new five year prime IDIQ to continue our work training, advising, and iteratively developing operational contract support capabilities with the U.S. Air Force. Since 2017, Technical Assent's team of experts has worked with logistics and contracting experts in the Department of Defense to improve the way we plan for and manage commercial capabilities in support of operations. We've been behind the scenes supporting the Services, Combatant Commands, and support agencies like the Defense Logistics Agency to build tools, conduct exercises, develop policies, and define concepts. "The Department of Defense relies heavily on contractors in any kind of overseas operations. In recent operations, contractors represented well over half of the total force deployed. This work ensures that contracted support is properly planned for, used to support appropriate, non-inherently governmental functions, and overseen with a high degree of ethical integrity," said Technical Assent President Chris Bobbitt. "Operational contract support is a huge passion area for Chris and me as well as our company as a whole," said Vice President of Service Delivery Danielle Ferry Wiederoder. "This project is a great example of how service design principles can be applied to complex government-to-government policy problems. Through service design, we are helping DoD better support our troops by having a strategic and executable path for conducting OCS in the field." https://lnkd.in/gX3pfhrG #servicedesign #federalcontracting #SDVOSB #operationalcontractsupport #contractaward

We’re honored to announce that Technical Assent has secured a new three-year contract to extend and expand our work with the Department of Labor Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) Homeless Veterans' Reintegration Program (HVRP). This opportunity allows us to continue partnering with DOL VETS to improve the customer experience (CX) for HVRP while contributing to a broader, long-term CX strategy, which includes our ongoing CX efforts with the Jobs for Veterans State Grant (JVSG) Program. HVRP provides employment services and support to help homeless veterans gain stable employment and reintegrate into the workforce. It is the only federal grant to focus exclusively on competitive employment for veterans experiencing homelessness. By applying CX, human-centered design (HCD), and service design methodologies, we aim to rebuild trust in government services and deliver meaningful, sustainable outcomes for those who have served our country. "This contract is a reflection of the trust we've built with our clients and the impact of the work we’ve done so far. It’s an honor to continue advancing HVRP's mission, and we’re excited to see how our CX-focused approach can further strengthen these essential services," said Danielle Wiederoder, Vice-President of Service Delivery. HCD is a critical tool for government clients supporting veterans, as it ensures that their unique needs and experiences are prioritized in every solution. "By truly understanding and addressing their challenges, we can design services that not only improve access and outcomes but also rebuild trust in the systems meant to serve those who have sacrificed so much," said Chris Bobbitt, President. We’re excited to continue partnering with DOL VETS to improve government performance, using CX as the driving force for lasting change. https://lnkd.in/geg8pVW4 #veteranexperience #servicesthatinspire #customerexperience #humancentereddesign #servicedesign #hcd #cx

Our final Summer Adventure Series highlight takes us to the tropical vibes of Puerto Rico with our very own adventurer, Managing Consultant Maggie Banks. We asked her to share her favorite moments from the trip. Q: Where did you go? A. Puerto Rico! Old San Juan and Isabela gave us all the island feels. Q: What was your favorite adventure? A. Fajardo’s Bioluminescent Bay Kayaking Tour—it was like paddling through stars! A magical experience you can’t miss (but be prepared to be out late if you go!) Q: Best bite to eat? A. Grilled octopus! Fresh, flavorful, and an unforgettable taste of the island. Q: Any travel tips? A. For East Coast travelers, Puerto Rico is a fantastic, affordable alternative to Hawaii. You’ll find stunning views, pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and the friendliest hospitality—no passport required! As an added bonus for her trip, Maggie also had the opportunity to catch up with Managing Consultant Bill Greenberg, who calls the island home. If you’re looking for a blend of natural beauty and rich culture, Puerto Rico should be on your travel radar. Whether it's wandering through ancient cities abroad or exploring far reaches of our own country, our team knows how to embrace adventure! Thanks for following along with us in this Summer Adventure Series. Interested in working with our team and taking full advantage of our flexible PTO policy? We’re hiring! With summer officially ending and fall starting this weekend, we’re proud to present two final highlights of our Summer Adventure Series! Consultant Brandt Cole took full advantage of it last month, jetting off for two weeks of European exploration with his partner and friends! From Italy to Iceland to Hungary, his adventure was nothing short of spectacular. Here are some highlights from his unforgettable trip: Q: Where did you go? A. Italy, Iceland, and Hungary—three countries, each with its own beauty and charm! Q: What was your favorite adventure? A. Swimming in the Mediterranean at sunset in Cinque Terre, Italy. From Rome to Milan, the views, food, and culture were unbeatable—but there was something magical about that sunset swim! Q: Any unexpected surprises? A. The 24-hour layover in Iceland was jaw-dropping. Between the Blue Lagoon and driving through the national park, the landscapes were unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Can’t wait to go back for a longer stay! Q: Best moment in Hungary? A. Budapest blew us away! The old Jewish quarter, the historic parliament building, and especially our last night at a rooftop bar with stunning views of the city lit up—it was a perfect way to end our trip. Our Technical Assent crew had a great time at the Service to the Citizen Awards last week. Congratulations to all the awardees! “Too often we try to solve problems from within, instead of starting with customers. When we start with listening, we gain the insights we need to serve better, with greater precision and with better purpose.” —Lee Becker, 2024 Industry Executive of the Year #STTCAwards #servicesthatinspire #CX #customerexperience #employeeexperience

Life is an adventure, and at Technical Assent, we believe in living it fully! Our flexible PTO policy is all about giving our team the freedom to explore life outside the office. While summer may be winding down, our Summer Adventure Series is still in full swing. Today, we're diving into Consultant Jessica Riehl's Northern California summer getaway! We got the scoop on her adventure, and here’s what she had to share: Q: When did you go? A: The last week of August—right when California students are back in school and the lake is all ours! Q: What was the highlight of your trip? A: Whiskeytown Lake! The water’s crystal clear, not too chilly, and perfect for spotting fish. Plus, the kid-friendly beaches were a win for the whole fam! Q: Swimming can work up an appetite. Best post-lake meal? A: Dam Burger, hands down! There’s nothing like crispy fries dipped in a vanilla milkshake after a day in the water. Q: Any pro tips for future adventurers? A: Oh, where to start! In the Redding area, don’t miss the Shasta Dam Tour, Sundial Bridge, Turtle Bay Science Museum, and Lake Shasta Caverns. And if you hit Whiskeytown Lake, bring a kayak or paddle board to explore the hidden coves!Whether it's splashing in lakes or enjoying yummy burgers, we love seeing our team make the most of their time off.
