Today, Governor Kim Reynolds, alongside Technology Association of Iowa (TAI) leadership, board members, and key members, officially signed a proclamation designating October as Cybersecurity Awareness Month in Iowa! 🖥️ 🔐 We’re grateful to Governor Reynolds for her continued support in championing cybersecurity and encouraging Iowans to prioritize online safety in our expanding digital world. Cybersecurity Awareness Month is the world’s leading initiative promoting cybersecurity awareness and best practices. This month-long effort brings together businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, associations, and communities, all working towards the common goal of promoting online safety. As Brian Waller, TAI President, emphasized, “It is important that Iowans think beyond awareness and take action on practical and effective cybersecurity best practices. We are proud to be a champion of Cybersecurity Awareness Month. Through education, awareness, and action, we can significantly minimize risks and safeguard our valuable information.” Thank you to everyone involved in making this initiative possible. Let’s continue to protect our digital world! 💻🔒 Read More: https://lnkd.in/gvGYXRr9 #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #UniteIowaTech

A big thank you to VGM Group, Inc. for hosting a fantastic reception at the VGM Farm, where the cohort kicked off the session with networking and dinner. Thank you to Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate for joining us at TechBrew:AM this morning. He provided an insightful discussion on his background, election security in Iowa, and how election administration has adapted to evolving technology. Paul highlighted how the Secretary of State’s office has proactively implemented and secured election technology by partnering with the Iowa OCIO, DOT, National Guard cybersecurity teams, and federal partners. These efforts include launching online voter registration, establishing cybersecurity best practices, and conducting pre- and post-election audits. He also shared how his office supports all 99 counties, standardizing processes across both rural and urban areas while strengthening cybersecurity measures statewide. 🎤 Tyler Wyngarden TechBrew:AM is made possible by our partners at Check Point Software and West End Architectural Salvage & Coffee Shop.
