Spotlight on our friend, Bilal!! Thanks for carrying the message of hope 💖
I am a registered Diverse Supplier helping biotech, pharma, and medical devices companies bring their products to market and patients through regulatory submissions and medical communications.
Throughout my 18 years so far in the pharma/biotech industry, I have striven to make a positive impact on the lives of patients through my skills and experiences as a medical writing professional. I never thought I would ever be in a position to impact patients as a patient myself 👨🏾⚕️ I have Grave's Disease and Thyroid Eye Disease, and I want to help as many patients and companies as I can who are living with or working with these diseases 🔬 My sincere gratitude and appreciation to Shelley Gerson of argenx for inviting me to Gent, Belgium, for an interview with her in front of an audience of #argenx colleagues sharing about my life experiences as a patient 😊 Thank you Dieter Defever and Estefanía Urdániz, PhD. for chaperoning me, Lisa Barton for arranging my travel and accommodation, and to so many colleagues, including Petra Van Vlierberghe, Ivaylo Stoykov, MD, PhD, and Jozef Michalicka, who took time out of their busy days to be in the audience, ask me questions, and speak to me afterwards 🙌🏾 #thyroideyedisease #gravesdisease #autoimmunedisease #patientadvocate #patientadvocacy

We love having Andrea Perryman with us in the TED Community!! Such an inspiration. And thank you Immunovant for this lovely video! https://lnkd.in/gykaAkuj
When Andrea was diagnosed with #GravesDisease in 2016, it turned her life upside down. "I wasn’t the same person after I got diagnosed with Graves’ disease. I became like a hermit, just staying in my house all the time. I didn’t really do much and I didn’t feel well enough to do a lot. I lived in isolation." Watch Andrea’s journey from early symptoms to the importance of education and community in her life today: https://lnkd.in/e7HwrJUV #GravesDisease #endocrinology #thyroid #InvisibleDisability #AutoImmuneDisease #autoimmune #hyperthyroidism #PatientFirst #healthcare

The TED Community Newsletter!
We are changing the TED patient narrative to one of agency, hope, and the power of community! The TED Community is on the move. We are learning from the experts and each other. We are connecting through online support groups, social media, webinars, TED Art meet ups, and in private as one TED patient talks with another. We are seeking medical treatment. And we are looking for ever better ways to participate in our own healing from TED. Read our recent newsletter and join us as we embark on this pivotal journey, together. https://lnkd.in/gnNFd4hu

As part of the Prevent Blindness TED Art Therapy program, the TED Community is gifted an art therapist and session every other month - for all who have historically participated in this wonderful 8-week program. On Saturday, art therapist Emma directed us to make a kaleidoscope artwork as a way to look at our world from a different perspective. The experience was magical! Prevent Blindness is currently accepting applications for the fall session of TED Art Therapy. We highly recommend!! https://lnkd.in/g3xVg2js

Heartfelt thanks to our partner at Immunovant for sharing about the TED Community, via my story (Christine), during Graves Disease Awareness month. This article appeared throughout the country in major to minor media outlets. This is a tremendous boost to our outreach efforts! https://lnkd.in/gA8Kzejj

Graves' Disease Awareness Month Rocks! The TED Community Artists gathered together last Saturday to discuss and create "rock art" that captured the theme of "HOPE" for all those affected by Graves' disease, which includes nearly everyone with thyroid eye disease (TED). The blue rock was painted by Jacque, the director of TED ART, and the gold flowers were painted by Nancy Patterson, the founder of the Graves' Disease & Thyroid Foundation, also a member of the TED Community Organization. Nancy informed us that her GDATF is nearly 35 years strong!!
