After an extensive search, the TIPS Board is thrilled to appoint Geoff Ball, as the new TIPS Executive Director. Geoff has led organizations of all sizes while focusing much of his career on Youth Development. Upon arriving in Seattle from his home on the East Coast, he had the great fortune of Directing YMCA Camp Orkila. When asked about his “why” for joining the TIPs team, Geoff shared his excitement for the mission and becoming part of such a homegrown organization with an extensive, and fabulous history developing leaders and serving the greater Seattle community. We are excited for the youth development, fundraising, and operational expertise Geoff will bring to our incredible team and to our TIPS programming! -- Image description: Text reading "Welcome, Geoff" at top of screen, with a headshot of Geoff in middle, circular frame. Two faded circular decals to each side of Geoff's headshot.

Our 2024 TIPS Interns are incredible!! Check out this recent essay written by Raika R., currently a TIPS intern at Holocaust Center for Humanity, and a student Interlake Senior High School. 👏
🎉I’m excited to announce that my essay about critical thinking education has officially been published in The Seattle Times Education Lab! 🗞️ Coming out of COVID, there has been a concerning deficit in students’ behavior and interpersonal skills. Discussion-based classes, like Theory of Knowledge, help tackle this problem at the High School level. Read the full piece and add to the dialogue on this issue below ⬇️ 🔗:

TIPS is Launching Leaders and Connecting Communities! Every spring, we hold our annual giving campaign so that we can continue to expand our program reach. Tomorrow we will host orientation for the 75 students selected for this year's program - it is no coincidence that we are asking for your support now! Every year we have more and more high school students applying to be a part of TIPS, as well as nonprofits interested in hosting a TIPS intern for the summer! We know that our social impact grows exponentially with every new intern and nonprofit partner we can serve, and we need your help to make that happen. Please consider making a donation online between May 21-May 31! Thank You! https://bit.ly/4bOa4og
