Celebrating Success and Growth at Tellurian 🌟 We’re excited to share a heartwarming message from Shelby Vinson, a dedicated Human Services student who recently completed her Field 1 & 2 experiences with us. Shelby’s kind words and invaluable contributions underscore the impact of our collaborative efforts and the importance of mentorship in shaping future professionals. Shelby’s Contributions: Identifying Strengths and Gaps: Empowering clients and addressing barriers to continued care. Educational Outreach: Helping clients and their families understand and manage their crises effectively. Policy Development: Creating policies for post-discharge support and addressing service gaps. Key Findings: Effective discharge planning is crucial as 1/3 of patients miss their first outpatient visit within 30 days of discharge. Supplemental Updates: We’ve refined our discharge planning with a visual breakdown for staff and aligned our processes with grant funding requirements. Shelby also contributed to developing trauma-informed group work, enhancing our approach to client care. We’re incredibly proud of Shelby’s achievements and grateful for the dedication of our Care Center staff. Their expertise and compassion make Tellurian a place of learning and growth for both clients and students. Honoring the Visionary Founder of Tellurian, Mike Florek "I came back because I really miss talking to clients. I miss their stories, especially the clients with mental illness. Their stories aren't listened to. There's such a stigma there, and I want to listen and ask them how they got here, and what more can we do for you and how can we make your life better? You have a right to be a productive member of society, and sometimes society forgets that." - Mike Florek, Founder of Tellurian, 1971 Mike Florek founded Tellurian with a deep sense of purpose. He understood that individuals struggling with mental illness and addiction often go unheard, facing stigma and isolation. Instead of following the norm, Mike chose to listen. He asked clients how they arrived at their current place and what more could be done to support them. This empathetic approach laid the foundation for Tellurian, where the focus was not just on treatment but on truly understanding and valuing each person's journey. Mike’s commitment to breaking down barriers between patients and staff, fostering a culture of openness, and addressing the real needs of those he served has left an indelible mark. His legacy lives on in the compassionate care and innovative approaches that continue to define Tellurian today. Join us in honoring Mike Florek’s incredible contributions to mental health and addiction recovery. #MentalHealthAwareness #AddictionRecovery #Leadership #HealthcareInnovation #Compassion #TellurianLegacy

Growing up in Ohio, he was blessed to avoid trauma. Now, he dedicates his life to supporting those less fortunate, ensuring they receive the help they need.
