We were thrilled to join iconic leaders and emerging influencers at FT’s Business of Entertainment Summit in Hollywood. By fulfilling our universal need for connection, great stories and memorable moments, entertainment captivates the world. Video games are a unique and growing part of this community, driving global culture, intersecting and interacting with music, movies and television. Two of the world’s best developers Steve Martin of Lightspeed LA and Mathias Nørvig of Sybo were on hand, to discuss mobile gaming, the future of game development and the importance of engaging fans to create and sustain outstanding game IP, like “Last Sentinel” and “Subway Surfers.”

Tencent Spotlight: Norbert Varga, Senior Concept Artist Curious what it’s like to be an animator at a global games company? Our first #TencentSpotlight shines on Norbert Varga🌟, a Senior Concept Artist at TiMi Studios. Norbert’s journey with digital art began at 27, inspired by the release of the first PlayStation. Taking a leap of faith, he left a stable warehouse job to enroll in a 3D art class. The limitless possibilities to create anything he could imagine fueled Norbert’s passion and determination to pursue a career in digital art. Today, he has worked in the industry for almost 18 years and has contributed to iconic titles, like Cyberpunk 2077, Halo 2, and Game of Thrones. Having recently joined the company, Norbert already appreciates the vibrant, collaborative spirit at Tencent: “Everyone has a voice here, and we work together to efficiently achieve our objectives.” Norbert has a diverse global background, having spent time in Hungary, Australia, and the US. Currently based in our Playa Vista office, every day is a chance to explore new perspectives and work with creative minds across our international offices: “What makes us unique is that we’re open-minded, and eager to experiment with new ideas.” “Right now, I'm doing Look Development, helping to develop the visual style of games and build worlds through creating color, textures, and materials. I enjoy doing this a lot because it involves a little bit of everything, and it presents fun challenges and provides many opportunities for experimentation. We recently celebrated Family Day in the Tencent Americas region! This special event took place across three countries (Brazil, Canada, the US) and nine offices, bringing employees and their families together to promote work-life balance and a strong sense of community. A big thank you to our fantastic employees and their families who joined us for a day of fun activities, including visits to the aquarium, golf experiences, bowling, and laser tag. It was truly a memorable day! #LifeatTencent

We celebrated National Intern Day in style at our Palo Alto, Los Angeles, and Bellevue offices! Our interns and mentors had a fantastic time connecting and building relationships at our Happy Hour event, which included fun team-building games, snacks, and gifts. We just wrapped up Virtual Bring Your Pets to Work Week, known as "Paws & Claws Week," at Tencent Americas. This event celebrates the companionship of our furry friends, their contributions to our well-being and the important role they play in creating a positive work environment and vibrant company culture. The Tencent Americas Corporate Volunteer Day with Dress for Success, San Jose, was a great look for everyone! Our Women's Employee Resource Group, in partnership with Tencent Americas Giving, organized this event to share positivity and practical resources with women in our community.   Volunteers from our Palo Alto office participated in programs that included career coaching and personal styling. A nonprofit, Dress for Success Worldwide is dedicated to helping women achieve economic independence.
