Dr. Thomas has a particular interest with all forms of ocular inflammatory diseases, including all forms of uveitis, scleritis, and orbital inflammation. This month we are recognizing four employees who are celebrating their work anniversaries. Amanda Briley and Kristen Cross are celebrating 10 years and Denisha Hester and Kristi Spencer are celebrating 5 years at TNR.   Amanda is an amazing momma to three kids who are her world outside of work. She has served in several areas at TNR including clinic, triage and now her current role as lead research coordinator for a WET AMD study. Amanda shared, "It's fulfilling to see what you've worked on being approved by the FDA and being used in clinics everywhere."   Kristen is a member of our photography team. She completed the COT program with Vol State prior to starting her career at TNR. She teaches ophthalmic imaging courses for the COT program at Vol State every year. Kristen stated, "I love getting to know my patients and building a relationship with them." Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and traveling. She has been to 13 different countries!   Denisha serves as a Copay Assistance Specialist on our billing team. While at TNR she passed her Ophthalmic Coding Specialist Retina exam to obtain her certification! During her time at TNR she has also graduated with her Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Administration in 2019. Denisha shared, "I am just happy to be at TN Retina for 5 years."   Kristi is a member of our clinical team. She recently hiked her 350th trail with her best friend and will soon start studying to become a state naturalist for the state of Tennessee. While Kristi lived in Texas she worked as a ranch hand for an Ostrich ranch. She has participated in stunt flying in an open cockpit airplane and hang gliding.   Thank you all for your service and dedication!! This month we are recognizing three employees who are celebrating their work anniversaries. Julie Fletcher and Donnie Willis are celebrating 10 years and Michelle Willis is celebrating 5 years at TNR. Julie is a member of our triage team; Donnie is a member of our photography team and Michelle is a member of our clinical team. All these employees have been true assets to our team. Julie serves as a role model and a guiding figure for the staff. She is skilled in training staff and helps patients with triage concerns and questions over the phone daily. Her calm demeanor and compassionate heart shines in our triage department. Donnie not only excels in our imaging department, but also helps us with audio for events and recently even filmed a drone video touring the Murfreesboro office for our virtual tour series. He truly is a talented guy! He is a loving husband and wonderful father to two boys and a daughter in law. Michelle is a talented teacher and instructor; she helps equip staff to study and be prepared to take certification tests through JCHAPO. She sat on the committee to help develop the Certified Retinal Technician (CRT) certification and also contributed to the textbook as an author for the Retina Clinical Reference Manual through JCAHPO this past year!
